I recommend you watch this video, it has something to do with the story. If you don't want to that's understandable. I know I said that'd I'd make this a Ryan x reader but this used to be a Brendon x reader. Just bear with me, I'm trying.
⚠Warning⚠: Sensitive/mature wording ahead
Ryan wasn't always an outgoing kid, until recently when they entered the 9th grade. (Y/N) had known him since 6th grade, when she had a class with him. She always admired his confidence, the way he didn't care what anyone thought of him. It was something (Y/N) always wanted– to be confident. But no matter how hard she tried, something always pushed her back into her thoughts. No, not her thoughts, her worries.
She remembers, one time in 7th grade, Mr. Grant's US History, no, Civics class. They had to do some kind of report, global warming, was it? Ryan had to go up to the white board and he had this huge erection. Everybody saw it but, he didn't seem to care. He put on a face that pretty much read, 'Yeah, that's my dick, I'm super hard' and went on with his presentation. That's the type of confidence (Y/N) thought she lacked.
And the school thought she did too. If the cheerleaders thought so– Layla especially– then so did the whole school. (Y/N) never quite understood the real reason they hurt her. Sure, Layla said that they liked to see her suffer but, that seemed like a reminder. She told (Y/N) that everytime they finished thrashing her around like a napkin in the wind.
Then, a reason came. In Psychology class. Bullies preyed on other people, weaker people, because it made them feel strong. It made them feel like they were in control. Bullies did that because they were most likely being abused at home. But it didn't seem like Layla was abused. She never came to school with bruises or with tears in her eyes. Her eyes showed no pain whatsoever.
"Hey! (Y/N), did you forget our little agreement to meet after school?" Here comes Ryan. Not that (Y/N) didn't like Ryan, she did, it just seemed to her that he was taking care of her out of pity.
"You mean your agreement? Not to be rude but, I didn't agree to any of that." She mumbled out, swiftly looking around for a second or two to take in her surroundings after being lost in thought. She often would start thinking and her brain seemed to press the autopilot button and she'd walk and do whatever she had to. Everyone has patterns and sometimes, we just know it so well that at any moment, at any given time, if you zone out your brain will take over and do whatever you have to. But patterns also make it easy for people, stalkers, to kidnap you. (Not to scare anyone but, it's true. [I've been watching too much Criminal Minds.])
Ryan brought his hand up to the back of his neck and placed his hand there, looking at her sheepishly, "Well, yeah. You're right but, um may I see your arm? Please?" He outstretched his hand from his neck towards her, signalling to place her arm there.
Sighing, (Y/N) placed her injured arm on his hand. She had committed to his orders and cleaned, disinfected and, bandaged her arm. He gently took her arm and brought it closer to his face for a closer inspection.
"It looks good. Thank you for listening," He slowly let go of her arm, "Um, I-I'll see you around hopefully?"
"Yeah, hopefully."
"Please don't harm yourself like this again. Or harm yourself in any way. You are special. You are loved." Yeah right, "There is no reason for you to do this"
(Y/N) nodded, desperately wanting him to stop pitying her and move on with his life. He nodded once, and turned around, walking in the direction his house was.
(Y/N) did the same. And as she walked, she couldn't help but recall the memories of her being caught in the bathroom with her blade. Looking back, she stopped walking for a moment and thought,Could it be that he actually cared?
Surprise! I actually updated this story.
Love you all, stay safe-Dana❤
