The war was finally over. Annabeth sat on the firework beach in Percy's lap. There was a ball made by the Hephaestus cabin lowering slowly over the water. The demigods joined together in the countdown. "FIVE FOUR THREE TWO ONE," they shouted,"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" The demigod couples kissed and Annabeth giggled to see Will pull Nico in for one as well. Nico was blushing so badly he looked like a tomato(Jason feverently denied it later but she could hear his fangirl squeal along with piper). She was surprised to see Percy stand pulling her to her feet. At first she expected a kiss but tears sprung to her eyes when he got down on one knee. "Annabeth Chase," he said,"would you please marry me?" "OH MY GODS YES," she shouted hugging him. Piper squealed and (as much as he tried to deny it) Nico's squeal that was quickly silenced by Will. Percy put the ring on her finger and really truly kissed her. The demigods around them cheered and wolf whistled. Annabeth felt like she was walking on the clouds. There was no way she could be happier.
