Chapter 10: She's back

Zoe's POV:

I quickly put on my eyeliner and some lipstick before taking a look at the mirror to admire myself. Damn!, I look so gorgeous.

I woke up earlier than usual today. I wouldn't really say 'woke up' considering the fact I couldn't sleep tonight. I was too excited to see Aaron later today that I didn't feel sleepy at all.

"Well, someone's in a good mood today" Eric says as he entered the room giving me a kiss on my head. Eww.

OK, I have kissed Eric before while we were dating but he is my ex now and I love Aaron. He should just be contented being my ex I got married to when my stupid sister decided she was old enough to get married before me.

"Right before you ruined it" I say pushing him off me
"Now, that's the Zoe I know" he muttered but I just chose to ignore him. I don't want him to ruin anything I and Aaron are going to do today.

"So, what's the good news?" He asked while chatting with someone on his phone
"What good news?"I asked
"Well, you have never woken up early or made breakfast in this house before, there must be some good new or is it that you don't want to share it with me?" He asked still chatting away but I ignored him.

He didn't seem to mind I didn't answer him as he continues chatting, I don't understand who he's chatting with that is more important than watching me do my makeup, aren't I beautiful enough. He continues chatting and I couldn't help but get angry. I walk up to him to see the idiot he was talking to and if it's Chloe..... so help me!

"Who's Emma? " I asked looking at his phone disgusted
"O, she's my friend, I mean my friend's sister" he answers calmly making me more angry
"Which of your 'friend'?" I asked making sure to put air quotes of friend
"Alec" he says again
"O, so because I made Chloe ditch you, you decided to play around with Alec's sister?" I asked angrily
"Play around?, she's sixteen and I'm married" he said still calm making me more angry
"Then why are you texting her?" I asked
"Because I haven't been able to reach Alec since our wedding so I just wanted to know how he was doing from Emma and besides she's been out of the states since last year and she arrived yesterday, I had to at least talk to her as her brother's best friend " he answered already frustrated
"So that's what you guys have been talking about for the past ten minutes?" I asked again not believing his stupid story, just because I'm going go see Aaron today doesn't mean he has to find a slutty side chick
"Gee, yes Zoe, now can we just drop it" he answers
"Drop it?, you can order me to so stuff I'll drop what I want to and you can't do anything about it" I scream at him and he sighs and leaves the room making me angrier than I already was.

No one ever dares walk out on me, he is in for it..........

Chloe's POV:

*sweep
*sweep
*sweep

"Mum, I'm done with sweeping" I yell from downstairs but since I got no response, I hurriedly keep the broom and run back into my room.

I jump on my bed and check my phone. No text from Alec.

It's obvious he's mad at me for something but I don't know what.  I decided to call him.

"Hello" I hear his sleepy voice say after the third ring
"Are you asleep?" I asked while looking at the time, it's nine in the morning, I'm not sure he still sleep around this kind of time considering the fact that he has to go to work
"No, I'm just tired" he responds
"Didn't you go to work today" I asked him casually hoping he's not still mad at me for whatever reason he was
"No, Emma just got back from Canada yesterday so got excuse from work for the week" he announces.
"Emma's back?" I asked happily. I miss Emma so so so much. I still remember how she was excited to go to Canada but still got all sad and started crying at the last minute when she  saw the planes, she said she doesn't want to leave Alec alone and she'll feel sad living there all alone with their Aunt Margaret.

"Yeah" he answers back
"Can I come over?" I asked. I know I'll probably have to sneak out of the house because mum won't let me go and dad's not around to grant me permission but it's totally worth it, last time I saw Emma was when she was just eight and that was like eight years ago

"Would your mum let you?" He asked
"I'll manage, I'll be there in a few" I say before ending the call.

I didn't want him to argue with me and tell me not to come if my mum won't let me in order for me to avoid trouble blablabla. I know he's only looking out for me but he doesn't know my mum. I'll be in trouble if I go see him today with or without her permission.

A few hours later I was finally standing outside Alec's house and on his porch. I was just about to ring the bell when the door busted open and someone dragged me into the house and next thing a knife was on my throat, my heart skipped a beat.

"Your earrings or your life" A chirpy voice said right behind me. I was just about to panic when I recognized the voice
"Emma!"  I yelled and she freed me from her grip before I pulled her into a hug.

"Why did you do that?" I ask playfully smacking her on her shoulders
"Well, Alec told me you were coming so I was already expecting you but then I saw you through the window come out of that taxi and I decided to wait for you here with this table knife" she responded laughing cheekily
"You know that knife might have actually hurt my throat right?" I asked
"But it didn't" she responded with then laughed before taking hold of my hands and pulling me into the living room

"Look who's here" she announced to everyone.
"Hi" I wave at her parents
"Welcome, Chloe, glad you could make it here to see Emma, she's been wanting to see you since she came back yesterday" Mrs. Winters said with a cheerful smile
"O" was all I could say, I really didn't know how to reply them, I'm not really good with parents and besides I'm sure Alec is still mad at me, I'll have to talk to him later.

"I brought some sweets, perfumes and shampoos for you from Canada, they are up on my room, want to see them?" Emma said snapping me out ml of my thoughts as she pulled me up to her room without even waiting to hear my response.

Emma has been talking and following me through out. I like it because she's fun and adorable but she's also distracting me from talking to Alec. Each time I gather courage to walk up to him and chat she just appears from literally no where. I have to find a way to distract her.

"Do you mind getting more samusa for me from the kitchen?"I asked interrupting the story she was telling me about the time she actually thought hugging a guy could get you pregnant
"Samusa?, it's finished already, you ate them all" she said. O yeah, I've been using them to distract her but it didn't really work so now I have an overfull belly. Guess I'll have to come out clean

"Look, Emma, I really do like talking to you and all but I would really appreciate it if you give me some time alone to talk to Alec"
"What?" She said "Time alone to talk to Alec, why didn't you say so?" She said before winking at me and walked away laughing weirdly and minutes later Alec was standing at the door emotionless
