Day 1: scene in a coffee house

Tom walked into the shop with a spring in his step. Reaching the counter, he ordered himself a small cup of hot-chocolate. Lost in his thoughts, anyone looking at Tom would think he was a bit odd. He just looked TOO happy. His grin was currently his most dominant feature.

I'm getting it today. Finally, after so long I'm finally getting it Tom thought to himself

"Here's  your hot-chocolate. Would you like anything else?" the woman at the till asked.

"No thanks," Tom replied.

He took the hot chocolate and took at seat at one of the tables in the shop. A bit too eager with his drink, he burnt his tongue on the piping hot hot-chocolate.

Ouch he thought, looking at his drink. Then his smile returned. I'ts still deelish as ever.

Tom took a more careful sip of his drink and looked around the shop. It wasn't busy. Only two other customers were present; a man in a suit reading a newspaper, and a young woman, staring at him from behind her mug of cappuccino.

Probably wondering why I'm so happy he thought with a smirk. Returning her look, Tom gave her a cheery wave of his hand. She waved back awkwardly, and then quickly averted her attention onto something else besides him.

Tom looked down at his watch as he continued to drink his hot beverage. 11:28

Only 2 more minutes. 2 more minutes and the guy will be here. He will be here with the card. One of the most rare Duriko trading cards game cards ever.

Tom was a huge fan of Duriko, and when he found out someone was selling a super rare card on Gumtree, he had to have it. He'd contacted the seller, and they had arranged to meet up there, at John & family coffee house. And now Tom was happily waiting at the coffee house for the seller to arrive.

Tom heard the door bell ring as someone entered the shop and sure enough, there was the seller. Dressed in formal clothing, the seller looked like he meant business, which raised Tom's hopes even more. The way the seller looked made Tom think there was less chances of him being conned.

The seller was holding a suitcase, and Tom knew for a fact what was inside. He stared at what would soon be his, as the seller walked up to his table and took a seat opposite from him. He placed the suitcase on the table.

"You got the money?", the seller asked.

Tom took out £50 and handed it to the seller.

"There's your money. What's the code for the suitcase?"

The seller took the money and stood up.

"123 456", he said and made his way to the door, intending on leaving.

Tom entered the code on the suitcase and opened it. Looking inside, his heart almost skipped a beat, and all the joy he previously had turned to rage.

"Hey! Where's the cards!?!" Tom shouted at the seller, showing the case was empty.

The seller turned around. There was a look of shock and fear on his face. The seller hadn't expected Tom to open the case so fast. Looking at Tom's outraged face, he turned around and took off running out of the shop.

"GET BACK HERE YOU ********!", Tom yelled, running after the seller, leaving the people in the shop stunned, his hot chocolate, and all those happy thoughts he had only minutes ago.
