Chapter Six

"Liam open the fucking door!" I screamed behind Liam's and Curtis's apartment.

I have been knocking for a few seconds but I got irritated because I am in a hurry. I heard feet padding across the floor and the locks on the door unlocking. Liam stood in only a blanket with a tired expression.

"Jesus Blake its one o'clock in the morning!" Liam exclaimed as I pushed him aside in a worried mess.

"Liam I need your help," I said fingering my hair and looking at the ground with a hard expression.

"Shit okay let me throw some clothes on," Liam said hurrying into his bedroom just as Curtis exited the room wearing boxers.

"Make some fucking coffee!" Liam yelled at me.

I walked to the kitchen with Curtis following me. Liam and Curtis's apartment was amazing and every couples dream. Its a good thing my brother and his husband have good taste because the place looks fantastic.

"Hey Baby," Curtis hugged me while kissing my cheeks.

It relaxed me when my family called me by my childhood nickname. And Curtis being Curtis he always relaxed me with his low key demeanor and heartwarming kisses.

"Whats the problem?" Liam entered the room wearing boxers and a long navy blue robe trailing behind him.

He carried his computer, check book, and hand gun for me, covering all the possibilities needed. If I needed money, he would write me a check without even asking what it was for. If I needed someone killed he would give me the gun and hide the body afterwards.

I sighed trying to think how to start the conversation, "I need to get out of town for a little bit. I need you to tell Ma and Pops I will be in touch in a a few days. I need you to make me a fake ID so I can get out of the country for a while. I also need you to start me a new credit card so the person I am running from, can't track me."

Liam nodded sipping coffee from the coffee cup Curtis had handed him. He slipped his glasses on his nose and typed away at his computer.

"Can I have an idea who you are running away?" Liam asked glancing my way, only pausing a second before typing rapidly on his computer keys.

I knew if I told Liam he wouldn't say anything more. But I can trust these two men in the same room with me like they are trusting me with their money.

"I met someone at the book store. He kidnapped me and I am-" I stopped myself from saying I was afraid of Jonathan. "I need this done in a few hours Liam. He will be here in about an hour and a half knocking on your door."

Liam nodded once again with a thin line on his lips. His eyebrows furrowed as he thought hard about something. Curtis placed a warm hand on my back and gave me the simple human pleasure of someone being there for me.

"Curtis I need you to listen to me," I turned to Curtis in a serious manner. "When the man comes to your door, I want Liam to answer the door and I want you behind the door with the gun. If he attaches you, which I don't think he will, but if he does, shoot him in his chest. Not a fatal blow but something that will slow him down."

I would ask Liam to hold the gun but he doesn't have a whole lot of experience with guns. Curtis's dad used to own a shooting range out in Missouri so Curtis grew up using them all the time.

Curtis nodded with his face expressionless. I gave him a weak smile and kissed him on the lips quickly. He seemed nervous because he kept running his hands over his boxers.
