Chapter Nine
"Would you dance with me baby?" Jonathan asked me with his hand out for me to take.
I was sitting down at one of the round tables mingling with Bethany to make the time pass by. I had a full stomach and Jonathan had left me a long time ago to talk to the other Alpha's.
I blushed as I looked at his outstretched hand. The one thing on earth I sucked at was dancing. It was hard for me to sashay around when I had a metal rod in my hip. But despite my awful dance moves I still placed my hand in Jonathan's as he pulled me up.
"I will warn you right now, I am awful at dancing," I whispered as people made way so we may enter the dance floor.
Nobody was dancing as we entered the middle of the floor. I kept my eyes on Jonathan so I wouldn't get nervous. Jonathan smiled and pulled me into his arms as the orchestra started to play a slow song.
Jonathan surprised me by taking my waist and lifting me up so my feet landed on his. I giggled and rolled my eyes as he side stepped to the left. I heard some people chuckled at sight in front of them.
"I think you dance beautifully my dear," Jonathan whispered into my ear.
"I bet since my feet are on yours," I replied with a smile.
I laid my head on his chest as I took in his scent. We slowed danced to the song for a while and soon people started to join in with us. I looked around me and saw so many awe struck faces as we danced. I too was high because of how everything around us looked. The lanterns above us glowed and produced soft rays of light across the dance floor. It was so magical that I was even in a trace at the beauty.
Suddenly Jonathan lifted me off his feet and spun me. I smiled and twirled around as my dress rubbed against my legs. The feeling was amazing and I felt as if Jonathan was my drug. I needed more of him as I placed my hands on his chest and ran my fingers against his exposed skin. His breathing hitched as I got impossibly close to him.
As the song started to end he took me by the waist and dipped me. My laugh echoed through the hall as he placed a single kiss on my shoulder. He straightened me with his arm still on my waist. Everyone cheered around us making us bow together. I looked around and mistakingly laid my eyes on Jackie.
His jaw was set and his frown was directed towards his older brother. When he turned to me he smirked as I looked away. My smile had dropped as I looked at him but it raised as I looked at the happy crowd.
"Please, please," Jonathan quieted everyone.
We still stood in the middle of the dance floor with our arms resting on each other's waist.
"We both would like to thank you all for supporting our match," Jonathan began. "And throwing such a beautiful party for us."
Jonathan paused while I spoke, "We want to personally thank all the waiters and cooks that cooked our food tonight. Also the orchestra," I paused and clapped while looking at everyone holding instruments. "the music was beautiful so thank you."
The crowd cheered as the orchestra started playing a cheerful song as we left. Jonathan and I walked up the stairs still holding hands. As we exited I passed the man that had given me the cigarettes and lighter and made Jonathan stop.
"Do you happen to have a twenty?" I asked looking into his eyes pitifully.
He didn't even ask as he whipped out his wallet and handed me a twenty. I took it was a smile, thanking him silently. I hobbled over to the man and handed him the twenty.
