"Y/N, Deku, and Courtney, you guys really got a work study for Sir Nighteye?!?" Denki asked in excitement.
"Yep! And tomorrow we will be able to start our first day by doing a couple of patrols." you explained.
Your classmates started to gather around you, Deku, and Courtney. Bakugou was filled with rage and jealousy. Uraraka, Tsuyu, and Kirishima were also able to get a work study too.
The Next Day
You and Stargirl were patrolling around the city. Trying to find any clues about Overhaul's whereabouts.
"So... what can your staff do aside from blasting people?" you asked. Trying to start a conversation with Courtney.
"It can control light, I can lift objects with it... and uh that's pretty much it." Stargirl replied.
"Wow... that is so cool!" you exclaimed, causing Stargirl to blush a little. You spotted a group of people with bird beaks-like masks on their faces, coming from a magic shop.
"That's Overhaul's signature mask! We should find out what they are up to." Courtney suggested and you nodded in reply. You followed Overhaul's henchmen into dark alley and you can see them handing magical items to a male with devil-like features.
'Why does he look so familiar?'
"It's time to intervene!" you said to Stargirl and you both charged towards the henchmen.

You threw your blue mana spheres towards some henchmen, the explosions from your spheres pushed them back and knocked them out. Stargirl used her staff to blast the remaining enemies, effectively incapacitating them. You can see the devil-like male attempting to flee.

"Oh no you don't!" you yelled to him as you fired a seismic wave at his back, he fell on the ground. Your eyes widen as you examined his face, it was your childhood friend Derick.
"Remember me?" he said as red clouds of energy started to cover his body. Derick and the magical items teleported away.
"You know him?" Stargirl asked.
"Yeah.. we used to be childhood friends.. But why is he working for Overhaul?" you questioned.
"We should tie these guys first, and bring them to Nighteye. Maybe we can extract important information from them." Stargirl said as she tied the knocked out henchmen.
"Yeah, good idea."
You brought the henchmen to Nighteye's agency. Mirio and Deku had an encounter with Overhaul himself. They both stated he had a daughter with him.
