Chapter 10

Back in the states, Tez's mother Tanya Wright, and her brothers Tobias and Caleb are all worried about their sister. She and Morgen were supposed to return a week ago. They haven't had any contact with either of the girls since they first arrived in Mexico. The lead detective, Detective Williams has been working nonstop looking for TEZ and morgen.

Already on her fourth cup of coffee, Tez's mother Tanya looks weary. Her eyes are puffy from the long nights without hearing from Tez.

"Ma have you eaten anything today?" her Tobias asked.

Drained, she responded, "I'll eat something when they bring your sister home safely."

"You know the police are doing everything they can to find her, it's going to be okay Ma."

Their mother just waited patiently for Detective Williams to return with an update. About 20 minutes passed and he returned with a stack of paperwork in a manilla folder. Their mother instantly stood up and pointed to the stack.

"That better be good news on all of the criminals involved with my baby being out there all alone. Have you heard anything back from the police station in Mexico? Have you done anything else but sit on your ass and eat doughnuts?"

The detective gestured for her to sit down. He opens the stack and gives their mother the most disgruntled look.

"We gave word to the American Embassy to inform all of their officers to have an up to date description on each woman. With the descriptions, you gave, uhh Tez Allen 18, 5'4, and black hair, she has a scar on her left leg from a bicycle accident from when she was 10. Is there anything I don't have on my notes?"

"She has a mole on her neck, we got it looked at when she was thirteen, and the doctors told us it's not cancerous so there was nothing to worry about. When she was fifteen, she wanted a car for her sweet sixteenth, I told her no but that she had to save up for her first car just like her brothers had cause there's nothing in this world that is free. I raised my children to be able to provide for themselves at all times. I raised them to never turn away from King Jesus himself. I put my blood, sweat, and tears into raising my children and I am going to continue to fight for my children. Now, put that in your notes Detective."

The detective just sat and stared for a while, then spoke. "I understand your pain Mrs. I understand it very well. My sister ran away when she was 16, and it tore my family apart. Four years later we got a call that she had overdosed on meth. Turned out she graduated college early then fell into a bad crowd afterward. So when you place your judgments on anyone who has gone through what you are going through right now, you pause and listen to what they have to say before projecting your assumptions on them."

She remained quiet after that statement.

"Now where is her father, Marcus?" the detective asked.

"He's been deployed since last May. He doesn't about any of this otherwise he'd be on the first flight to Mexico."

"Well we have everything covered on our end, you guys should go home and get some rest. We'll call you if anything comes up."

One of the brothers thanked the detective and gets up to leave.

The detective called the younger brother back and gave him a note with a name and number on it. "Give them a call and tell them Michael Williams gave me this number and that you need to find somebody."

With that, the Wright family left the Police Department and went home.
