Should I tell him?Should I ask him to meet her? Will he agree? Is she telling the truth? Why now? What will I do?
The thoughts didn't leave Jaechi. She stayed still even after Mago left. She was bewildered.Jaechi was sweating unusually and the tense was all over her face. She was afraid that how he will react and what will happen when Mago will tell him about it personally.
What will happen?
Jaechi woke up from her thoughts when a waitress of the dine hall kept calling her name.
"Manager-nim!Manager-nim!
Drenched Jaechi looked up to the waitress.
"Are you okay,Manager-nim?"
"Huh?!"She touched her forehead and looked up again. "Oh yeah.Yeah,I'm fine.I'm fine."
The waitress asked Jaechi if she would like some cold water. To her reply Jaechi said,"Uh.No,thank you.I'll have some later.Anyway is the head chef in kitchen?"
"Yes,he is in the kitchen."said the waitress.

Jaechi thanked the waitress and took her leave from the dine hall.As she came out from the chattering hall the cold air hits her face and she relaxes her jolts. She breaths in and breaths out.She walks towards the stairway to the kitchen. The Inn's kitchen is one of it most prized position,as the inn was the most dependent financially to the cuisine it has been serving for last 100 years. There were more than 20 chefs and the head chef was one of the Inn's most reliable for his loyal work.He was the oldest employee and the only friend of the Inn's owner. The owner only talked to him for a longer time and he only gave a second thought whenever  his oldest friend advices something to him. They had one of those invisible bonds.

And Jaechi knew about this better than anyone. Before her the head chef was the manager, the Inn didn't have an account before Jaechi stepped in.

Jaechi was certain and knew that before she goes and announce about Mago to the owner she must speak to the head chef. She had to speak to him before. She knew she could trust him and wouldn't have to handle it alone.

The three words hung in front of the kitchen's door.Jaechi pushed the door and walked into the kitchen.Everyone was busy preparing dishes, every stove was on fire and everyone was moving from here to there.
Jaechi move passed by the tiny passage way.No one paid attention to her.She could feel the heat, the tension and the busyness of this place. The kitchen ran from 6 in the morning to 11:30 p.m.There's a small break in the evening but otherwise the place was always busy. The kitchen was more like an experiment central.Every single chef of the inn were professional and loved their job.

As Jaechi was searching for the head chef a voice came up from behind her,"Mmmmmm...woah!Now that's how you make Boeuf Bourguignon(a classic French beef stew made with red wine, pearl onions, mushrooms and bacon)Wahh didn't I teach you the best? Now ring the bell fast and ask the waiter to serve this as soon as possible.Because...."
The man looked up and every chef were looking at him and they all said together as if it was some chant or a slogan,"The hotter the food the delicious it is."And like that the man had a proud smile on his face and there were no doubt that he wasn't the head chef.Jaechi had a sigh of relief. The man left that counter and walked passed through other counters and checked the food or the work in process. As he smiled the other chefs knew that he permitted their dishes.
The man was tall, tall enough that he was easily identified among the crowd of chefs. His chef coat was all white and his toque blanche ("white hat") was a little bent on his left side.It looked majestic on him and he indeed pulled the look in his own way.No wonder he was a "magician."The nickname was given by the guests of the hotel a long time ago as he did wonders with whatever he cooked and his own creativity charmed everyone.
