Chapter 17: The End

November 20, 2010. Friday noon. A day after the death of Tyler's brother, Dante. Today, Tyler, and his family, are living in a disaster shelter.

November 21, 2010. A day after, Beverly's Dad, Merlin, comes to visit.

"My daughter." Merlin rushes to Beverly, for the relief of her, and her family, safe.

"Dad! You came!" Beverly said.

"Tyler! My boy!" Merlin said.

"Dad, leave him for a moment." Beverly said.

"Oh, why's that?" Merlin questioned. He continued, "Wait, where's Dante? The Eldest?"

"Let's not talk about that, for now. Let's wait for the right moment." Beverly said.

"I'm sorry." Merlin said. He continued, "Hey, I bought a house enough for all of you, and it's pretty near mine."

"Really?" Beverly questioned.

"Indeed. So when will you be out here?" Merlin asked.

"Tomorrow morning."

As Merlin hugs Beverly one last time, he left afterwards.

November 21, 2010, Saturday morning, Merlin is driving Beverly, and her family, to their new home.

"It's so beautiful." Beverly said in surprise.

As Tyler comes in, he saw a piano.

"Oh, Tyler. Don't you play the piano like your brother?" Merlin asked

"I used to play the piano-with my brother. But, after what happened, I don't want to-anymore."

"Well I could take the piano away if-"

"No. Just keep it there, Granpa."

"I'm proud of you, sport." Merlin said.

Tyler then smiles.

"Alright, I will be leaving now. You guys have everything settled now, and I'll be on my way."

As Merlin leaves, everyone explores the house. Tyler, however, stays with the piano.

*plays the piano*

As Tyler plays the piano, Beverly, Liam, Andy, and Jester, comes, and watches him play.

*stops playing*

"Why did you stop?" Beverly asked.

"I don't want to remember what happened to us." Tyler said.

"Tyler, forget the past. It's better to move on. So go on, play the piano." Beverly said.

As Tyler plays again, Beverly cries.

July 19, 2020. Tyler is now at the age of 23, and has made his own piano music. He calls it, Nightmare Sonata. A music created by the horrors of Tyler's past.

Tyler is now performing at a local Theater House near Vancouver. Everyone enjoys Tyler's dark piece of music.

As Tyler plays the piano, he remembers Dante. His hero, his teacher, and his brother. Tyler also remembers one quote Dante taught him.

"Music is beautiful in many ways. But, a music does not always have a wonderful meaning. It depends on the artist, whether it may be dark, or happy."

As he remembers all what Dante taught him, he realized that what they had experience over that past few years, made him special. Thus, he had created a music.

Nightmare Sonata.
