Outfit for party
April 8, 1976
It's been a couple weeks since Eric's birthday and Ella had been avoiding the basement. Everytime she ran into Hyde or Eric she would make a quick excuse and run away. The only one she was talking to was Donna, but usually upstairs away from the boys.
"El, you have to face him sometime," Donna said watching as Ella went through some of her stretches. Ella had a recital as the lead, coming up the week after her birthday, and she used practicing as an excuse to be out of the basement. It was a practical excuse, considering the amount of work she had to put in, especially with Daisy.
Donna couldn't take seeing two of her best friends so miserable. She noticed with Ella "practicing" so much, Hyde started showing up later than usual to hang out in the basement.
"I can't, I was such a spaz at Eric's party he's probably glad I'm not around right now." Ella said as she started going through her practice movements.
"We're all worried about you," Donna sighed, Eric especially had been a little distant as well, since he worried for his baby sister, even if he didn't know what she was going through.
"I'm fine, but I need to practice," Ella said, plastering on a forced smile.
"Well what are you going to do on Saturday?" Donna asked, raising a brow. She now stood staring Ella down, arms crossed. "You know you're not getting out of a party."
"I know," Ella finally sagged to the floor. "What do I do?"
"Just act natural," Donna rubbed the younger girl's shoulder. "You guys are best friends, act like it."

Ella sat at the dinner table, twirling her pasta absentmindedly.
"What do you want for your birthday this weekend?" Ella's head snapped up and focused on her parents who looked at her expectantly.
"Well...my old pointe shoes are starting to wear out," she shrugged. "I don't need the good ones, just a new pair."
"You don't have to worry about the price Tiger," Red smiled at his youngest. "You need the best, so you can perform your best." Ella felt warmth surge through her as her dad smiled at her, she noticed Eric roll his eyes out of the corner of her eye. She kicked him under the table.
