Sierra looked at herself in the mirror for one last time. She was all ready for her birthday party which had started in the pack hall downstairs, an hour ago.

"Everyone's waiting for you, Sierra", Eva entered inside.

"I know."

"He's here too."

"I know. I can smell him."

"Where did Jack go?", Sierra asked.

"He left as soon as you fell asleep. He called me and told me that you'll be needing help in getting ready for the party. Not that he had to tell me, I already knew."

"I'm very nervous, Eva."

"Don't even think about washing your face. I took half an hour to do your makeup."

"Eva, let's go."

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, the ultimate beauty, life of the party, the birthday girl, SIERRRAA CAMERONN!", the host announced Sierra's arrival as she was coming down the stairs.

Everyone clapped for her. Some children came and handed  her a bouquet of flowers.

Her parents went towards her to wish her and her father kissed her forehead.

Sierra was talking to Alpha Jace while Varez was standing near a food table, glaring at her.

Carter, his Beta, approached him, "I think Alpha Jace is her mate."

Varez chuckled, "Alpha Jace's mate died ten years ago. Besides, there's no way Sierra will get an Alpha mate. She's not Alpha blood."

"Being Alpha blood is not necessary for being an Alpha's mate. Look, how interested Alpha Jace is in Sierra inspite of being her father's age. She's probably his second chance", Carter commented.

"Impossible!", Varez snapped.

"Hey, hey. Cool down, I was just saying", Carter explained.

"But how are you so sure?", Carter asked.

"Instincts, Carter. Instincts", Varez smirked and took a sip from his drink.

While Varez and Carter were discussing  about Sierra and Alpha Jace, they were actually dis using about pack training.

"You know, I think you are actually doing very good. Getting trained and simultaneously training new recruits is not easy", Alpha Jace praised Sierra.

"But I think it's not good enough", Sierra replied.

That was a catch for Alpha Jace. He knew that those weren't Sierra's words, those were someone else's and he had a fine idea who could it be.

"Why so down, Sierra?", Alpha Jace asked.

"I'm not down, Alpha Jace", Sierra replied.

"Stop with the 'Alpha' thing, will you? And last year when you had to have therapy sessions, I was your doctor, remember? I know when something is up with you", Alpha Jace lectured.

Sierra remained quiet.

Just then the DJ started playing music and Sierra's father came towards her.

"Come on, Sierra. Dance time", Alpha Cameron took her to the dance floor where they started to dance with the others.

"Sierra. If you don't mind, can I say something?", Alpha Cameron asked.

Sierra smiled and answered, "Of course, father. Since when did I start to mind you?"

"Whatever is bothering you, don't tell me. But please, talk to Alpha Jace about it."

"Dad, I'm fine."

"No, you're not. Look at you, you're looking like a ghost. Neither eating nor sleeping properly since almost a week!"

"May I have this dance with the wonderful lady, Alpha Cameron?", asked Alpha Jace.

Alpha Cameron gave Sierra the 'tell-him' look and went and Sierra started dancing with Alpha Jace.

"So, where were we?", Alpha Jace started.

Sierra remained quiet.

"Sierra, how will I help you if you don't let me?", Alpha Jace said again.

"So, shall we start over?", Alpha Jace asked.

"Fine", Sierra agreed.
