| Max's POV. |My wolf was ready to kick my ass. I dissed Wren, for Madison, I acted as if I didn't know Wren, and letting Madison control me. Yup, she's blackmailing me. If I continue this fake act with Madison–being her boyfriend–she won't tell Wren about our past.
I don't want Wren to think that I impregnated a girl, who wasn't my mate, and killed the baby. I can't let her heart break into thousands of pieces, over the past. What if Wren rejected me, after she heard what happened.
So, that leaves me here, pacing the library. There's like no one here, so I might be able to clear my head. Trust me, I love Wren–like, with all of heart–and, I don't want her to judge me on my past. I don't love Madison, and the fact that she came back.
"Well, yesterday at lunch, Wren looked super pissed.." Ash said, sitting on the table, watching me pace. I looked over him, "No shit, Sherlock..." He throws up his hands, in surrenderance. "What am I supposed to do?!" I nearly shout, earning a stern-looking from the old librarian.
"Well, you could keep faking it all, and let everything pass by..." Ash shrugged, lazily, flipping though a magazine beside him. "Eh...I can't do that...everything isn't that easy..." I say, face palming myself. "Ooor...you can stop letting Madison control your life, and tell Wren the truth..?" Ash said, dropping the magazine on the table.
"Here comes Satan.." Ash whispers, staring at Madison, as she entered the library. How'd she know I was here? Madison waltzed over to us, with her icy eyes stuck on me. She didn't even acknowledge Ash's presence. I let her peck my cheek, and Ash started growling.
"Oh, hush, puppy, leave the Alpha and Luna to their business..." Madison sneered in Ash's direction. He glared at me, before storming past the nerds, to leave. Madison crackled, and turned her attention to me. Her victim.
She leaned onto me, trying to subdue me into her awful trance. It wasn't working....this time. I rolled my eyes at her, with disgust written on my face. She ignored my look, and continued her act. She presses her boney chest to my chest, failing to be seductive in a library.
I can smell Wren's scent coming closer, and start panicking. "Um...Madison, let's go..." I insist, placing my hand on the small of her back, to try and push her out of the library, so we don't run into Wren. She would be so angry. I can't have my girl getting mad over a girl I don't like.
"Oh?!" Madison raises her eyebrows, and looks over to the wide open doors. I swear under my breath, before turning around. A furious Wren, and Cassidy. My wolf is now calling me all kinds of harsh names in result.
"Hi, again," Madison sends a nice, warm smile to Wren and Cassidy. Wren immediately morphed into a girl who was oblivious to Madison taking her spot, as being my mate. "Hello, Madison, right?" Wren says, grabbing Madison's extended hand.
I stand there, observing Wren's foreign behavior, I've never seen this before–well, I don't know much about her...
She tenses, at the contact of Madison and her. I look into her eyes, and I see it. Her wolf. That's when Wren's dark eyes, become even more hooded, and they turn into a deep black. Then, the tables turn Madison. A deep, dark growl escapes from out of Wren, as she stares straight through Madison.
The atmosphere gets thick, and low. I slowly turn my attention to Cassidy.
Take Wren to the pack house, take her to the doc, and bring Ash along... I link Cassidy, and she nods, before grabbing Wren's arm. Wren keeps her fixed glare Madison, as she let's Cassidy drag her away from the scene.
