Wren's POV.

I woke up, and opened my eyes, to stare at the ceiling. The small cracks spread in different directions under the white pastel wallpaper. I watched the lines, as some ended up intersecting with a whole different crack. It was Saturday; I had nothing better to do than trace the cracks on my bedroom ceiling.

I rolled over, huffing, to grab my phone after it buzzed.

Across the top said 'Tallah', my best friend. I taped the Answer button, and held the phone up to my left ear, as I continued to stare at the ceiling.

"Hey, Wren, I'm bored..." Tallah's voice came through the line. I could hear the boredom in her voice. "What am I gonna do about that?" I asked, in my sarcastic tone. She kissed her teeth, "Well, let's go to the movies!" She said, as I smiled.

"Okay, come by later, around 12," Tallah said, and hung up. The line went dead, and I hung up as well. Well, I guess I do have plans on this uneventful Saturday. I sit up, and pull the cream colored sheets off me, and swing my legs off my bed.

I got out of bed, and went into my bathroom. Yeah, my parents have money, big deal...

I turn on the shower, and take off my tank top. I stripped down myself, and stepped into the hot shower. I let the water indulge me, as I just stand there. Eventually, I take my time, and wash myself. I wash my hair, and get out. I let my hair air dry, as I brush my teeth.

I inspect my teeth, before leaving the bathroom.

I go back into my room, and go straight to my closet. I rummage around, until I pick out a black sleeveless shirt, with a skull on it. Around it's head is a dark bandana, with 'Scream' on top. I take out a pair of holed black jeans, and some worned out black vans.

I put on my clothes, and do a little bit of make-up. When I finish, leave my room. Since I'm going to fill up on stale movie theater popcorn, generic candy and pop, I'll just wait until we get to the movies and skip breakfast.

I yawn, as I run into Brittany, my older sister. "Good morning, sis..." She says, leaving out of the kitchen. "Hey, I'm heading to the movies with Tallah..." I say, taking my leather from the couch. I left it there last night...  "Have fun, Wren.." She says, walking back up the stairs.

I nod in her direction, and leave out the front doors.

Once outside, the cool summer air flows past me, as I make my way to my black Harley Davidson. I had never wore a helmet, so I didn't this time. I sit on my bike, and adjust the mirrors. I stick my phone into my pocket, and start the motorcycle.

It roars to life, as I speed out the driveway.

My parents have never approved of my style in transportation. I – honestly – didn't care. I liked the roar from the engine, mother didn't. I liked how fast it went, father didn't. I liked the black metallic paint, mother hated it. I loved the bike, my parents didn't.

I shrug, as I stopped at a red light. A diner was right across the street on my left side. The delicious smells of fresh food, made my mouth water, forming a small lake. I loved driving past the diners and restaurants. The smells were so inviting.

I sniffed all the smells, until the red light changed into a green one.

I sped off to a side street, towards Tallah's house. The wind picked up around me, as I pasted a white Cadillac. Tallah's house was on the next street. We didn't leave really far, I mean, I could have walked. But, I wasn't going to. I shrugged, and parked in Tallah's driveway.

I knocked on the door, and waited for someone to answer. About a second later, the opened, and there stood, Gale, Tallah's older brother. "Well, hello, Wren." He said, crossing his arms over his chest. Gale and I had a thing, little a year ago. He got drunk, I got drunk...and the rest is history.

"Yeah, it's me.." I said, as he slid to the side, letting me in. I walk in, and head to the stairs. I walked up the stairs, leaving Gale behind. He mumbled something, but I just kept going upstairs to Tallah's room. I walk through their hallway, until I stop at Tallah's room.

I heard her faint humming, as I knock on her door, "Tallah!"

She yelps, and comes to the door. "Hey, babe!" She opens the door, so I can walk in. I sit down on her bed, as she examines her outfit. "Do you like my outfit?" She asked, turning to me. She's wearing a white crop top, with a pink high waisted skirt. She has on her pink pumps on, with her hair in a high ponytail.

"You look great, Tallahpooh" I tease. She laughs, and wrapped a white ribbon around her ponytail. Once she's done fixing herself up, we go downstairs.

Gale is in the living room, watching some TV show. Their parents aren't here, just their maid, Lucia. "Goodbye, ladies!" Lucia shouts from the hall, as we leave the house. "Bye, Lu!" I waved back at her, as Tallah does the same. "Let's take my car, I don't wanna ride on the back of your motorcycle..." Tallah says, fanning her face.

"Alright." I say, as we approach her Audi. She slings her purse into the back, as I slid into the passenger seat. She sits in the driver seat, and starts the car. "What we gonna see?" I asked, rolling the window down. The breeze blows past us, as she drives.

"Maybe The Hunger Games!" Tallah squealed. "The newest one, please!" She says, turning into the next lane. "Alright, let's see The Hunger Games" I smile at her anticipation. She turns on the radio. We sing to different songs, as Tallah drives through town. We can't sing, obviously, but we still do it.

When Tallah stops at a red light, she turns the radio down. "What?" I asked, as she looks at me. "Nothing, I was just thinking..." She says, knitting her slim eyebrows. She sighs, and turns back to the wheel. I nodded, like I understood. I didn't.

I bite my lip, from the inside of my mouth, as we finally approach the movies.

"Let's go.." Tallah still looks like she's thinking about something, as we walk towards the ticket booth.

"Hello, ladies.." A blonde guy our age says, as he leans over the counter, behind the glass wall. "Hey, two tickets to The Hunger Games.." I say, looking over at Tallah. "Ookay, that'll be $15.89" He smirked at me, as I fished out a crisp twenty from my jacket pocket.

"Keep the change!" I say, as I take the tickets, and Tallah walks after me. He shouts a 'Thank you!' and we go to the popcorn section.

What's up with all the cute guys? "Hey, what would you two like?" A guy with black hair asked, biting at his snake bite. "Umm...a large popcorn, and two large Sprites, please.." Tallah ordered. The guy shot me a glance, as he turned around, and scooped popcorn into a big carton.

Maybe a minute later, he had two large Sprites and a large popcorn.

"That will be twenty dollars..." The said. Tallah paid, while I hauled the two large Sprites to Theater 7. Tallah was right behind me, with the large popcorn. She was hurrying to match my fast pace, as we went inside Theater 7. She opened the door, and we saw the place was packed.

There was like twenty five people in there.

We chose - Tallah chose - seats next to two guys. I put the popcorn in my lap, and Tallah handed me my Sprite. "Thanks..." I say, as I set it down in cup holder. I stab the straw into the slit, and take a sip. Tallah flirts with the guy next to her. I eat some popcorn.

It takes me a second to realize that the popcorn tastes stale as fuck.

I take a napkin, and spit the popcorn out. "What's wrong, bae?" Tallah asks, looking worried. "N-nothing.." I sip the Sprite, until the stale popcorn is out of my mouth. I shake my head, and watch the movie, as Tallah flirts with the cute guys...
