HERES THE SPECIAL CHAPTER YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!
Nightstrike here.
I have always hated ThunderClan. They took me in when I was with my mentor, of course, but they were stuck-up and arrogant as a delirious rabbit. (we did not know what type of weed it was eating at the time, but it permanently tore my left ear.) Anyways, StarClan was just as stuck-up as ThunderClan, and it was not good when they were in control in the forest.
Back to the present...
I was padding in the Dark Forest along with a certain brown tabby that had died a few chapters back, listening as he gave the report of what was going on in the forest and ThunderClan. I didn't like him very much, but he was an important figure in the world of rogues.
"I am going to tear these meddling kits in half," I snarled when he recounted of how three apprentices defeated him. "Also, you can't just run around having kits here and there! It violates our Terms!" I added, glaring at Timberfur, who looked quite guilty.
"I couldn't resist..." He protested. Such a mouse-brain.
"And your son killed you! Blame yourself!" I snapped. "Dismissed." I waved my tail and he trudged away, leaving me to my own thoughts.
"Mmm..." I mused about paying a visit to my least favorite cats, Rosepaw and Scarletpaw. They were the key to defeating the forest, but it came along with a huge risk. It was like attempting a jump over the gorge. If you timed the moves perfectly, you would succeed, but if you put a paw wrong, you would fall into the chasm of darkness. I wasn't very sure if I had timed my moves perfectly.
Suddenly, I remembered something that one of my closest allies told me.
"Bristlefur!" I called, and a small, fluffy grey tom appeared in front of me. He had light yellow eyes and a torn ear, but he looked anything but evil.
"Did you call, Nightstrike?" He meowed.
"Yes. Tell me, who was the cat that we spotted with Rosepaw last night?" I asked.
Bristlefur looked uneasy. "I repeat, why does it matter?"
"I need to know!" I growled.
My former mentor sighed. "It was Gingerpaw and a RiverClan cat called Maplepaw."
My pelt stood on end at the mention of my birth Clan. "Are they seeing each other?"
Bristlefur nodded reluctantly.
My eyes grew wide. "Holy flying squirrel! Why didn't you tell me before? Bristlefur, this is extremely important news! We can use this to turn the Clans against Rosepaw!"
"Don't be so sure, Nightstrike." Bristlefur warned. "StarClan arranged this, it is destiny."
I snorted. "Come on, Bristlefur! Why are you holding back all of a sudden?"
Bristlefur's tail lashed. "I have a better plan, and see, you are less inexperienced than me."
"Shut up!" Bristlefur made a choking noise as I swept my tail towards him, silencing him instantly. "I don't care about your plan!"
He made a rude gesture.
"Be carefupl or I'll have to stick your paws on the ground too." I meowed threateningly.
He made a grunt of assent.
"Good," I meowed. "Now..."It was our moonly war council. A few cats were gathered at a small clearing, the only clearing with soft grass in the Dark Forest.
"Good day, everyone," A white tom called Iceclaw meowed. "Bristlefur and Nightstrike have important news to share." All eyes turned to me and the grey cat beside me.
"We think planting a spy in the forest is a very good option," Bristlefur announced.
My eyes narrowed. Bristlefur and I had an argument about our respective plans, and at last Bristlefur won.
"Have you chosen the cat yet?" A small she-cat in the back whom I recognized as Darkwhisker called out.
"Yes, it will be one of Honeyfur's litter." I meowed. I had decided that in the moment.
"Mm, shall we send an omen?" A cat in the back mused.
"Who will send it?" Another one cried.
"We want to know who will be our secret weapon!" Another yowled.
"Silence!" I roared. The crowd quickly calmed down. "All will be revealed in due time!" There were a few grumbles.
"I will now leave this council to discuss with Nightstrike." Bristlefur's voice came out as a hiss.
I kind of flinched. Why did my mentor want to talk privately to me, looking so murderous? Things were not looking very bright for me and my (dark(forest)) future.
Trying to calm my nerves, I called out, "Coming," and I sprang to my paws and padded after Bristlefur. One of my biggest enemies in the Dark Forest, Greenfur, gave me a 'good luck with dying again' look. I returned the venomous gaze.
"Why does it have to be Honeyfur's litter?" Bristlefur snarled once we were out of earshot from the rest of the Clans.
"She is the only queen who will be kitting in ThunderClan! What do you want to do, send a kit to a male warrior?" I snapped back.
Bristlefur looked thoughtful. "Mhm, I didn't think about that."
"No! It has to be Honeyfur." I insisted. I did not have the faintest idea of why I was arguing for Honeyfur. I just wanted to prove to Bristlefur that my plan could succeed.
"Why?" Bristlefur looked suspicious, as if he could hear my thoughts.
"Because Honeyfur is Sunflower's sister! Her kit will get closer to Rosepaw and Scarletpaw!" I blurted out the first thing that came to my mind.
Bristlefur blinked. He pondered the matter, then nodded slowly. "I see. Good job, Nightstrike, I see that you have learned quickly."
I scoffed, the confidence returning to me once the grey tom praised me. "I'm always learning from about thirty moons, Bristlefur."
"Yet you still learn new things every day," Bristlefur meowed jokingly. "Come on, the others will wonder where we are." He padded away. From my vantage point over the ThunderClan camp in the Dark Forest, I sensed that Rosepaw was dreaming. I quickly willed myself to appear in her dreams, and I suddenly found myself flung against a rock. I barely stifled a yowl as the sharp edges sliced at my fur. Damn, why did StarClan had to have so jagged rocks? It's more Dark Forest material. I then turned to the two cats conversing.
"Be careful, Rosepaw, as there will be a traitor in your midst." A silvery she-cat meowed.
I mentally cursed Moonstar and her eavesdropping methods. What an annoying brat.
"A traitor? Who will he be?" Rosepaw squeaked in fear.
"That is not for you to know," The Bratstar meowed gently. GENTLY. HOW CAN A BRAT BE GENTLE.
"For once, I agree with Br-Moonstar." I hissed, putting on my 'villain' face and stepping out of the shadows.
"Nightstrike!" Rosepaw gasped, meanwhile Moonstar just frowned. "What did you call me?"
"Oh it is soo nice meeting you, little apprentice." I gushed, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "Stay away from Maplepaw!" I put the last bit because I had studied with Bristlefur about reverse psychology and was eager to try out my new methods of persuasion.
Rosepaw looked taken aback, while Moon-I mean, Bratstar, frowned. "Rosepaw, who is this Maplepaw?"
Aha! This was proof that StarClan cats do not know everything. "Oh, perhaps Rosepaw's new boyf-mate?"
Bratstar looked shocked. "Rosepaw! You aren't supposed to take mates!"
"Toodle-doo!" I waved and faded away, leaving Rosepaw to deal with an enraged brat.
