CHAPTER-4

"He also could have asked the lady..... Why shout us?"

The second one whispered in the ear of his mate and he stifled a laugh at that

"don't say that.... He has sharp hearing. We will be doomed!"

The first one said as he got on his horse and the second one nodded.

"I wonder what that madam was doing all alone out there?"

Brandon thought as they rode back to his home.

Brandon kept thinking of the lady he met, the way she smiled, her eyes sparkling in the sunlight, her dripping wet in a thin white night gown- wait

"stop!"

The colonel commanded and the two horsemen behind him halted

"was that lady swimming there? If she was then why had she not brought any one to accompany her? Did you see anybody other than her there?"

The colonel shot them with questions and they both had wide eyes in realisation

"now that you mention all this sir, we never saw anyone around and there was no carriage or horse down there... She was all alone."

The first one spoke and the second one nodded

"when I helped the lady she seemed distressed about something. I never noticed her wet attire because..."

He droned as he remembered her greyish-blue eyes looking up at him

"because?"

The colonel asked irritated by him

"she didn't like it when I questioned her or offered her a ride back, she must have been really sad."

The second one said as he remembered the look on her face, panic and worry was all over those beautiful features of hers

"we shall go back and confirm of her safety then."

Brandon announced and turned his horse towards the road that led him back to the woman who was plaguing his thoughts.

"I have to try going back. I hope that  dad knows by now that I'm here."

Celeste cried as she paced around the Forrest in her wet nightgown which now was half dried because of the summer heat.

"But where did I come from? I have to find the gate!"

She thought but then she heard a rustle and instinctively hid behind a large tree from the arriving animal

"oh I'll die today.."

she muttered as she stood still hiding.

As she hid from the approaching threat, she heard a voice

"you two go the other way and I shall go this way"

she heard someone say faintly and kept herself calm as she tried to think of an excuse like last time she had met those men

"if only it was the same man, I could have escaped..."

she muttered as she heard approaching footsteps

"come out from your hiding before I invite myself there!"

Someone slowly announced and Celeste was holding tears back as she feared the person arriving.

But when he repeated the same thing again, she remembered hearing the Same deep silky voice and almost jumped out of her hiding place.

But she did not say she had no idea on why the man was back and what explanation would she give after he finds out that she was not a citizen...
