CHAPTER-8
"now that you are here, tell me the story of why you were running that fast before we called you?!"
Margaret asked with excitement and the two elder sisters and their mother chuckled
"I was running because I was scared that if I stayed longer in the Forrest, some bear or other predator might appear and I was not ready to fight them."
Celeste told her the truth and Margaret laughed which brought a smile upon all the other ladies
"I lost my sword and shield or I'd have fought them bravely!"
Celeste joked just because she was enjoying the company of Margaret
"you know to fight?"
The girl gasped and Celeste smirked
"oh I know how to fight! I come from a good hunting family you see. My father taught me a lot about self defence"
she told her and Margaret seemed invested in listening
"I know how to kick men right on their face when they are needed to."
Celeste proudly claimed and the three sisters were surprised at it
"I know that this may not sound very lady-like but I was brought up without a mother... I only had my father and brother who taught me things and I am glad they did, women need to learn how to defend themselves."
She projected her thoughts in front of the ladies and they nodded
"yes, but I don't think it would be of necessary after marriage. Is your father not looking for a suitable young man who would court you? I can see that you are of age."
Mrs. Dashwood asked and Celeste smirked trying to hide her nervousness as she thought about telling them her real age
"well, I'm-22 and my father is not stressing me or himself over finding me a man... Actually from where I come, girls don't marry until they are 18 or above"
she informed them and Mrs. Dashwood gasped while the sisters seemed shocked-excluding Margaret as she smiled at her the whole time
"oh dear! Do Greeks really have no issues with their young daughter being this old and not married?"
Mrs. Dashwood asked and Celeste felt like a fifty year old when she said that.
Celeste sighed as she knew that she would now have to explain about where she actually had come from.
"I think the time of my ridiculous but true story has come... I hope that you don't find it outrageous as everything I'll be saying is true."
She warned them and they all looked at each other and nodded at her and Celeste took that as a sign for her to start.
For the next three hours, Celeste had the Dashwood ladies trapped in her story as they kept on questions her about things they never had heard of, the free thinking and the way men and women were treated equally.
"I cannot believe this! It sounds so unreal but.. How could someone be so imaginative to create that many things for one story?"
Elinor questioned her mother and she too looked lost in her own thoughts
"so your saying that in the 21st century there is a lot of women dominance and colored people are treated equally?"
Marianne asked and Celeste nodded
"everyone has the right to fight for their lives and we all deserve the same amount of respect. No one was born to be enslaved, that is their choice... if they want they can change it and the road to freedom in different countries were lead by such freedom fighters."
Celeste proudly explained and Margaret had an expression of understanding like her sisters did
"I will also be equally good at sword fighting like the soldiers are!"
The girl announced and after a second, laughter emerged in the living room.
