CHAPTER-9

The ladies were tired after the whole story telling and decided to sleep as they had to visit Sir John and Mrs. Jennings, who had invited them for lunch at their house

"I should warn you Celeste, that duo is hungry for gossip and are bloody loud, so you better stay with me tomorrow! Good night."

Marianne cautioned her before leaving her alone in the living room.

Celeste was sleeping on the couch as the house had two rooms only and she did not want to ruin their sleep because of her sudden addition.

The next morning Celeste was woken up by Margaret who was as always, jolly and jumping around with her wooden sword

"get up Celeste! Come and fight me!"

the girl challenged playfully and Celeste took few minutes to freshen herself before joining her outside in the beautiful morning light.

They played for thirty minutes and stopped as Elinor had called them in for getting ready

"we will be leaving a little early since Mrs. Jennings likes to converse a lot..."

Elinor said calmly after which Celeste followed her into her room as she still was wearing the same nightgown she had appeared in.

Elinor helped Celeste get dressed by offering her one of her own dresses and Celeste wore it as she knew that this was the only way she could blend in with the people of this century

"I feel like I'm in a play, playing the role of a 16 year old girl from 18th Century."

She chuckled and Elinor joined her

"well you have to look like you belong in this era in a way till your father finds a way to take you back home. You look lovely Celeste."

Elinor complimented and started to get dressed.

After both were dressed and ready, they joined the other two girls and Margret instantly clinger on Celeste's arms

"can I  stay beside you the whole day?"

Margaret asked, looking up at Celeste off a reply

"of course Mars! I love your company more than anything else."

Celeste smiled down at her and she too grinned

"I will steal her at times Margaret, she is after all a friend of mine too."

Marianne stated and Margaret frowned at her, making the other three women laugh

"sure you can steal me but not for long as Margaret and I have a special bonding"

Celeste assured Margaret which brought back the sweet smile on her face and she embraced her new friend

"now let us go! The carriage is waiting for us! Come girls."

Mrs. Dashwood commanded and hurried out of the house with them following her.

They all boarded in the carriage with Margaret sitting in front with the rider as the carriage was full.

During the ride, Marianne and Celeste talked about the romance in 21st century and how they were different from their after marriage romance

"I would love to have a man love me like Romeo."

Marianne dreamily told her and Celeste chuckled

"I'll be fine with a man who would make me happy and cook for me... Nothing more to expect from my side as I myself am a lazy person..."

Celeste added and they both giggled at their differences.

They soon reached the house of Sir Middleton and found sir John and Lady Jennings waving and welcoming them with their dogs running around them.
