Darlyn

Three weeks ago
Giving last instructions to Madison I locked up entered into my car , I could have walked but my feet ached and I needed to get home fast and call Marlyn and ask her how her date went. It was time for her to come home it has been six years now , she should be over whatever made her run away. I eased into the road but I was blinded by a bright light ahead of me , I saw fear it gripped me ,choked me , I lost control over my hands my car was spinning I think I am spinning, my car flipped over ten time and was stopped by the tree at the bend in the road , before I could realize anything I was in a pile of glass and scraps my leg was stuck I cannot feel my legs , I wanted to scream for help the gas pipe was leaking i could burn to death I would never see my Madison again, my baby she will never be able to bare it if anything happened to me I could hear people opening the car door , someone was pulling me out but my leg was stuck I couldn't scream I think I have lost my voice everything became blurry the only thing I could phantom was that I am on a stretcher and paramedics thank goodness, voices .

" wake up mom, please " Marlyn was here o my , my baby Marlyn I need to open my eyes my sweetheart she is here
" mrs Reyes , I need to know something shake your head if you can see my hand"
I can see his hand , face , and am I in a hospital, what happened? Why am I here? Why was Marlyn crying? . The doctor asked the question again and I nodded . I tried to open my eyes again but the light was too much , someone switched it off noticing my discomfort , I sat up and looked around me , I saw everything keasha, miles , doctor whose name tag says Wilson and a nurse and Marlyn oh I was right she is here and crying also why am here , the rush of what happened last night replayed in my memory , making me wince a little.

Three weeks later
"Well when George says it, he does it" keasha and her silly jokes . I am sooo happy I was improving I can't wait to get out of here go back to my always busy diner and try and convince Marlyn not to leave again, I know she has a great life in California but i need her and I have an idea to make her stay never to leave again, If only.

The nurse just finished checking all my vitals and gave us a reassuring nod that I am doing great .

I see miles giving Marlyn a smile , he told her earlier that she can go home to rest after the morning check up . Miles is a very sweet young man I see the way he looks at Marlyn and I know he feels something for her . He came here everyday for the past three weeks.

Marlyn gives me kiss hugs keasha and mrs Kendrick and makes her way out .

After some few minutes keasha and mrs Kendrick left the room leaving me and miles together, I think it's time for me to implement my plan.

" miles"

" yes mrs Reyes"

" drop the formalities just call me darlyn "

" ok , emm mrs darlyn "

" that's fine , can u help me stand "

" sure , but are you sure that's okay or should I call the nurse or a doctor "

" no no no miles you know what just help me massage my legs "

" ok mrs darlyn "

" ohhhh that's it just right there , ok now I know I can walk"

" seriously " I saw twinkle in his eyes it was always there whenever he smiles or he is up to a mischief.

" let's make it a little interesting let's make a bet , if I walk and fall then you win ,but if I walk without falling then I win , so what do you want if you win "

" emmm cinnamon rolls for two weeks whether you are in the hospital or not "

" let's shake on it " we shake then I told him mine I just wish I can capture his face when I drop it

" mine is that you will have to go on three dates with Marlyn if I walk without falling " I knew it his expression was priceless

" we already shook on it so let's get this started"

And of course I win , I don't lose bets that's not my thing.

" Marlyn will be soo pissed mrs darlyn "

     Who should I blame my mom or miles I am soooo confused right now , miles looks shocked. So it's not his fault that leaves it to my mom it's all her doing she has a plan and I can't place my hands on it I seriously can't but I will find out

  " so I think your first date should be on Sunday evening " my mom said

     " seriously mom I can't go out with miles , am sure he has a girlfriend or something " I shrugged praying silently that I was wrong . miles looked up at me and shakes his head no I let out a little sigh not realizing I was holding my breath.

    " well I think your mom won the bet fair and square so let's do it , after all it's just three dates what damage can it cause "there was a twinkling in his eyes ,he is definitely up to a mischief I saw the smirk on his face am in for it definitely in for it .
