(Ayoub's P.O.V.)
Why.
Why.
No.
This game.
My friends.
They're all dying.
No.
I want to go home. I can't take this anymore.
"I love it Emad. You did great, you may sit back down, you are no longer needed." I watched Emad sigh and walk back over to his place on the ground with Nick and Peyton.
I watched as they whisper shouted at each other for a couple minutes before Peyton and Nick just turned their back to Emad.
Emad frowned and put his head down in his hands. I can tell from over where I'm sitting that he regrets what he did.
I hoped that I wouldn't have to die. I don't like half the people around me anyways. I can just kill them. Easy.
"Ok guys, I think the game is almost halfway done! So, Ayoub, you're up!" he shouts happily. My whole body goes stiff. I didn't think my turn would come this fast.
I take a look around the circle at whos left. Most of the people around me either hate me, or I hate them so it works.
I stood from my spot and waited for instruction.
"Let me think, let me think, let me think..." Mr Evil muttered. "Ah yes!" he shouted suddenly, causing a couple people in the circle to jump. "You are going to go put on the special pair of shoes I have for you at the front, and you're going to go take a dip in the pool, yes?"
I raise an eyebrow, confused.
I look around and see that almost everyone's eyes are on me.
I shrug, knowing I can swim, and strut to the front door.
When I get there, as the man said, there was only one pair of shoes there. I look around for the rest of the shoes that were there when we had all arrived and found nothing.
I sit on the ground and tug the shoes onto my feet.
They somehow fit perfectly.
I tie the buckles that were on the shoes and stand up. The shoes were really light, and it felt like I was walking on air.
I waltz back into the living room and I watch as everyone around me looked at my feet. I smile and show them off, lifting my feet and spinning around.
I hear someone chuckle at my antics, but it didn't last very long.
They probably remembered where they were.
I walk to the back door and pull it open.
I shiver super aggressively as the cold air blows against my face. I step outside and I begin to tremble.
Dammit. The one day I choose not to wear a hoodie, I'm forced to go swimming in -20 degree weather. Great job Ayoub I think to myself.
I take a minute to admire Peytons huge backyard. This kid is loaded. Damn.
I take a few more steps and my legs almost give out because of the cold. I can feel my fingers going numb and my breath blowing out in front of me makes it a little harder to see. The fact that its the middle of the night doesn't help either.
There is no way I'm going to die tonight. I can swim. I can jump in, then get out. Boom, done.
I walk to the edge and place my feet in. The water was like 10 times colder than the air around me.
I keep my clothes on because of the cold, and slip fully into the pool. I flail my arms around to stay on top of the water and all of a sudden, I start to sink.
Straight down to the bottom.
My feet were really heavy...
Something was wrong with the shoes. When I hit the bottom, I pulled myself down and tried to untie the buckles that I had tied tightly around my feet. My hand fumbled and I struggled to untie them.
My hands were fully numb from the cold now, and my eyes were burning from the chlorine in the water.
I then began to cry.
Not much sound came out because of the fact that I was still holding my breath.
Crap.
I'm still holding my breath.
My lungs and chest began to burn.
I began to try to untie the shoes again, but they were tightened really tight around my ankles.
My crying continued and I ripped at the bubbles, hoping maybe to break them.
But my numb hands fumbled and my fingers cut along the metal part of the buckle.
I NEED AIR
My lungs burned and felt like they were going to explode.
I inhaled.
The salty water filled my lungs and it burned.
My eyes burned too, and I squeezed them shut, trying to get the chlorine and salt out.
It didn't work and they continued to burn. I continued inhaling, trying to get even the smallest bit of air into my lungs.
But nope.
Just more water.
I began to choke on the water that filled the wrong parts of my body.
I started to see darkness and I closed my eyes, knowing Im not going to make it much further.
I cry for a little longer before I couldn't see anything anymore.
Thats how I knew that I had just died.
I was never going to see anyone ever again and all because of this stupid game.
*******
Back inside, the people that were watching Ayoub do his dare wondered why the boy never resurfaced with his light shoes...
