You stood at the foot of the staircase that led to the doors of UA. You were the fastest to leave the arena, having an easier time than the others to cool down.

You faced the gate, watching as people left. The majority of people looked scared or nervous, most of everyone else just kept a straight face.

"Ready to go?"

You turned around, facing your brother. He didn't look like anyone else there, he looked completely confident in the fact that he made it in.

"Yeah, but you do realize that I'm going home alone, right? You're going back to school," you responded, raising a brow at him.

"No, I'm dropping you off at home," he responded, beginning to walk ahead.

You groaned at his stubbornness, trailing behind.

Once you returned home, life went back to being rather uneventful. Of course, you and your family lived with the anxiety of knowing if you made it in or not.

Unlike with you, there was no question of whether or not your brother made it in, that was something you had always found frustrating about him. Apart from his anger issues, he was perfect. He always got what he wanted.

Katsuki was always free to do whatever he pleased, he always got the highest grades, the best toys, your parents gave him everything he wanted, and he was good at everything. It all came so naturally to him! The most aggravating part of it all was that he wasn't the least bit grateful.

You family hid you from the world, they were ashamed of you. You always worked so incredibly hard to be as strong, as smart, or as talented as your brother, but they never held any pride for you. No matter how hard you worked, your family continued to hide you from the world while pushing your brother into the spotlight.

You tried so hard not to blame your brother, but you couldn't help feel some resentment towards him.

Despite this, you knew that your feelings on such topics didn't matter. For now, all you could do was wait patiently for your letter. You hoped it'd be good news, but you never could be too sure. Things hardly ever seemed to work out in your favor.

"(Y/n)! Katsuki! Help me get dinner ready!" your mom yelled from downstairs. It had been about a week since the entrance exam, and the longer that the results took to arrive, the more anxiety you felt clouding your mind.

This was your dream, you were scared of what might happen had you not made it into UA. From what you could tell, it was your only way out of this house. Only because of the possibility of making it in were you able to join the outside world. You finally had some freedom and you were scared to have it taken from you.

"Coming!" you yelled back, slowly standing up from your bed before making your way to the kitchen in your home.

Your kitchen was rather large, much like the rest of your home. The floor of the kitchen was made of granite, black and white, hexagonal tile. You were lucky to have such a nice home, but you hated it; you hated being inside of it.

A black island sat in the middle of your kitchen, the countertop being made of black marble. The island was a rectangle, one of the longer sides had a sink that faced the stove, and the parallel side faced the dining room. Pressed against the side of the island facing the dining room were three tall chairs made of wood and wicker. On top the chairs sat three white seat cushions.

The stove was large, consisting of two gray ovens pushed together. Above the stove was a gray, metal exhaust hood and a faucet used to fill pots with water. The counters beside the ovens were white marble, unlike the island, with black cupboards. Above the counters were large, black cabinets with glass doors that showed the clean dishes inside.

The walls in the room were tan, all except the wall that the oven was pressed against. Unlike the others, that wall was of marble.

"(Y/n)! Mind preparing the meat? Katsuki, help me chop these," your mom asked, seeming to be in a rather chipper mood.

You nodded, not saying anything as you began doing what was asked of you.

Unlike you, your brother didn't stay quiet. "DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO OLD HAG! You could've just asked me like you did with (Y/n)."

"JUST CHOP THE VEGETABLES, BRAT!" your mom yelled back, beginning to chop some chives.

"Stop arguing while handling knives!" you yelled at the both of them.

As soon as the words left your lips, both your mother and brother reluctantly stopped arguing. In fact, they stopped taking at all, only angrily grumbling at each other every once in a while.

Once dinner was finished, you sat at the table and waited for your father to get home (since he normally came home as this time if he was staying late). Dinner was normally something that your mom and father worked together to make, but he had gone to work later than usual.

"I'm home!" the fairly soft voice of your father called out, following the sound of the door opening and closing behind him.

You smiled at him, staying rather silent. He was always more comfortable with silence, unless it came to my mom.

"YOU'RE HOME!" she cheered happily, kissing your father as she grabbed his scarf.

My father chuckled, kissing hmmm mother back before turning to face you and your brother, who were waiting patiently at the table.

Everything in your family felt so forced. Sure, like other people, you all felt emotions and displayed them accordingly, but something about it felt fake. Your whole life, it all felt so forced and stiff, and you were unsure why.

"Look what I found in the mail," your father softly spoke, holding two envelopes in his hand as he waved them at us.

Sorry that took so long! I'm trying to write more often! I hope that was enjoyable, have a wonderful night/day<3!! I love you! Byeee!
