[Eight Years Ago]
"Help me, please!" screamed a young girl, her voice hoarse; she clearly was trying her best to get the words out.
Sobs echoed along with the voice, the pain of the girl creating a stinging feeling within me.
I tried to speak, but my words washed away into the black abyss that surrounded me. Then, I realized that my body was gone, lost with the words I wished to speak.
'What the hell?'
My thoughts echoed, never straying too far from me. Still, my thoughts were much louder than my words.
Suddenly, a light appeared, revealing the girl. Surprisingly enough, she was right in front of me, only a couple feet away. She sat on her knees, banging her fist and forehead against some invisible surface that separated the two of us.
I tried my hardest to reach out to her, but my body was gone. I just wanted to make her pain go away; I wanted it to stop. I pushed, trying to reach out to her.
I had no physical body, but I could feel. I reached out to her, my arm feeling like it had stretch to miles in length.
To my surprise, I felt something. An odd sensation filled me, causing me to feel warm and oddly comforted before morphing into a sensation of being torn in half.
The girl looked at me, her face filled with dread. She had no eyes. Instead, her eyes were dark pits, a bright light at the end of both of them.
Her expression softened and she quieted, lifting her forehead and fists from the surface as the lights began to flicker.
Suddenly, a white light filled the black abyss, along with the sounds of her ear-piercing screams.
"(Y/n)!"
My eyes shot open, the abyss fading away rather quickly as reality filled my senses.
"Are you okay?"
My twin brother, Katsuki, stared at me, his crimson eyes filled with concern.
I nodded my head, rubbing my eyes as I adjusted to the room around me.
"Are you sure? You were screaming," he told me, his voice quiet as he frowned. He was always gentle with me, but based on what I've seen, that didn't apply to others.
I forced a smile, hating to see him worry about me. "I'm fine," I assured him, hopping off my bed, "Just had a bad dream."
It wasn't always like this; he wasn't always so careful with me. I had never been able to wrap my head around it, it was as if I just woke up one day and everyone around me had changed.
"Well, you'll be having good dreams soon enough! Get dressed, the dumb babysitter is letting you and I go outside!"
My eyes widened as I stared at him. That couldn't be true, right? I was never allowed outside or speak to anyone, only leaving the house for appointments.
"Yeah! Now, hurry!" Katsuki playfully yelled at me before sprinting out of my room.
Quickly, I put on one of the dresses my parents often dressed me in before sprinting to the bathroom and brushing my teeth. The dress was black with small, grey flowers embroidered into the cloth.
Katsuki met me downstairs, giving me a moment to put on the only pair of shoes I owned before grabbing my hand and sprinting out the door, not even acknowledging the babysitter sitting on the couch.
At first, I flinched as Katsuki pulled me as he ran across the sidewalk, my eyes stinging at the brightness of the sun, but I quickly found my sound amazed and bewildered about the world around me. For the first time in about a year, I was looking at a beautiful blue sky without having to be looking out a window.
The air blew against my face, blowing my hair backward. The wind was cold, but felt so fresh against my skin. I let out a sigh, enjoying the feeling.
"Look, look! There's the newly renovated park you always wanted to go to!" Katsuki cheered, slowing down as we approached the large grass field.
I furrowed my brows, looking at the grass field surrounded by trees.
"Where's the playground?" I asked, turning my head to look at my brother.
He smiled at me, tightening his grip on my hand before racing through the nicely mowed grass field. I gasped, my eyes widening as he pulled me along with him.
He ran straight into a cluster of trees that bordered the field, pulling me with him as I dodged small branches that stuck out into the path we traveled.
I was severely confused, but each moment of said confusion excited me beyond words.
Once we cleared the trees, we were faced with a playground. It wasn't necessarily big, but it felt ginormous at the time. I was bedazzled by the way it looked in the sunlight, amazed by the smiling faces of other children who ran amuck.
Katsuki let go of my hand, giving me the freedom to do as I pleased. I ran towards the playground, my legs moving awkwardly due to them not being used to the movement.
Suddenly, I felt the weight of my body move from my feet to the front of my body. I gasped, putting my hands down as a means to stop my face from hitting the ground.
Katsuki had already run off in a different direction, so I doubted he saw the rather embarrassing fall.
"Are you okay?"
I groaned, adjusting myself so that I was sitting on my knees. 'A voice?' I thought to myself, wondering if said voice was just in my head. To soothe my curiosity, I looked up in an attempt to search for where the voice came from.
A boy with seaweed-green, curly hair and emerald-green eyes looked down at me, a frown and a sympathetic look in his eyes. He was offering me his hand, a bucket in the other.
"Y-Yeah," I stuttered as I took his hand, not used to talking to other people, "Thank you." Was I about to have a conversation with a random boy? What if they wanted something from me? What if they had ill intentions?
The boy pulled me up to my feet, a smile growing on his face. "Of course! I'm Midoriya!" he happily cheered, not seeming to notice my nervousness.
I blanked for a moment, surprised with how friendly he was, before smiling back at him and responding. "Oh, I'm Bakugou!" I cheered.
"B-Bakugou?" the boy stuttered, his eyes suddenly widening.
His expression had turned from one of happiness to one of fear, confusing me quite a bit. He stopped talking. He looked nervous, as if he was afraid that one move could cause the sky to fall.
Even if he was scared, I couldn't help noticing the way he had clenched his hands into fists.
I tilted my head to the side, confused by his sudden change in emotion. 'Was he going to hurt me? Did he see something?' I asked myself.
"What wro—?" I began to ask, being quickly cut off by another voice.
"OI, DEKU!"
