"They're from UA! No matter the results, your mother and I are proud of both of you!" your father cheered. You assumed he doubted your ability to make it into UA.
Despite the fact that your father was about to hand the letters to you and Katsuki, Katsuki snatched them both out of his hands before placing the one addressed to you down on the table.
You didn't even dare reach your hand out to touch it, you just felt yourself completely frozen in fear as you stared at the letter.
What if you got denied?
Would you just be stuck in the house forever?
Would you keep the small freedoms you gained training for UA?
What if you chose to redo the grade and try again next year?
What if you got accepted?
How would you even deal with that?
What about your mom's rules?
It seems like it's be hard to go under the radar when attending one of the top schools in the country.
"(Y/n)?" your mother asked, "Why aren't you opening your letter?"
You found yourself snapped out of your own thoughts by the sound of her voice. You stared at her for a second, processing her words before you were even able to respond.
"Oh! Uh- I'd rather do it by mysel-"
You were completely cut off by the loud sound of a deep laugh. Quickly turning your attention to in front of you, you found that Katsuki had already opened his letter and had a small device in placed front of him.
This small device was projecting and a video of All Might in front of him. Your eyes widened, shocked and amazed at the sight.
You loved All Might, he was a shining example of everything you wanted to be! He was loud, strong, flashy, and practically invincible. He never stayed down, and he never frowned. In your eyes, he was almost like a god.
But what was he doing in the UA results video?
"Hahaha! Did I scare you?" All Might's booking voiced asked through the speaker on the projector, "I bet you're wondering why I'm your UA acceptance letter, huh?"
You abruptly stood up, walking away from the table and towards the nearest bathroom without explaining where you were going.
Perhaps you did it subconsciously, perhaps it was a mere accident, but you had grabbed the letter before heading to the bathroom. You didn't even notice until you found yourself sitting on the tiled ground, your back against the bathroom door.
You held the letter, turning it around in your hands. You read the fairly messy writing on the letter, it was quite certainly addressed to you.
Inside the letter, you noticed something small and round. It was likely the same device that was in Katsuki's envelope, but it could also not contain an acceptance message. There were papers inside of your envelope.
'Were there papers in his envelope?'
You felt like a kid shaking a Christmas gift the night before, trying to figure out what was inside. You knew you could've just opened it, you knew you should've just opened it, but you weren't sure. The idea of being rejected scared you, this was your dream.
You bit your lip, using your thumb to tear the top of the envelope slightly. The tear was only a centimeter long, you could've just turned back, but you figured to just keep pushing while you felt like you had the confidence to.
You tore the top of the envelope, eyeing the small round device inside before placing it on the ground. Once you gave it a little tap, an imagine had projected itself about a foot away from you.
A loud laugh, which scared you, echoed through the bathroom. All Might was being projected in front of you, a large grin on his face.
"I am here! As a projection!" All Might's voice boomed, "I'm sure you must be wondering what I'm doing as a projection, but I'm pleased to say that I came to this town to work for UA as a teacher!" All Might posed, his grin never leaving his face.
You were amazed as you stared at the projection, it felt almost like your favorite hero was speaking directly to you.
"Now onto the exams, I'm pleased to inform you that you passed the written exam with flying colors, getting one of the highest scores among all of the test takers!" All Might cheered, shifting his hand into a peace sign, "but of course, you need a good score on the practical exam to get into the hero course!"
You fiddled with your thumbs a bit, your jaw tensing as you stared intensely at the screen.
Beside all might, a chart appeared. On the chart, it showed what appeared to be the top students who took the exam!
#5| (Y/n) Bakugou | 60 | 6 |
"And you did! Now, you may have noticed that there's another set of points, these are rescue points! If you have any other questions, please refer to the letter inside the envelope! The due date of the hero costume designs can also be found there, congratulations on making it in! I'm excited to be teaching you next year!" All Might boomed, the hologram disappearing back into the device it had been projected from soon after he finished speaking.
You sat there in astonishment, staring at the device the hologram had disappeared into. You did it, you got in and scored just low enough to not be too noticeable. Granted, fifth place was high, but it was just low enough to go under the radar.
You smiled, knowing your mom would be proud of you. You did it!
Sorry for the wait, but thank you so much for reading! Also, thank you for 1K reads! Have a wonderful night/day! Byyyeeee!
