Chapter 7
Star-Crossed
“You’re a what?” you ask him looking rather skeptical; he sat in the grass looking at you very sternly.
“This is serious, Virus. I’m a Time Keeper.” He said hugging his knees; you looked at him utterly confused. What the hell was a Time Keeper? “You have no idea what that is.” He started, letting out a sigh as it was a typical thing. “Time Keepers is a race that can control time and warp. We can travel into the future, past and present. And change things.” He says softly. “So I can erase the time you got wounded, but sadly I can’t fully erase it so you’ll still have the scars.”
“I don’t care about having the scars.” You say, he nodded slowly touching your face, closing his eyes. There was a bright light and energy washed through you and slowly your ankle healed along with your shoulder. But there were scars to remain from that erased time. “So it never happened?” you ask looking at him.
“No, it happened, but not to this version of you.” He explains standing up, you also got up.
“You mean, there’s another me that will wake up with another you in this meadow?” you ask looking serious.
“No, there’s only one of me. But when she wakes up and comes here.” He said pointing where you stood. “She will not be.”
“You mean you erased my existence!?” you asked shocked, he looked annoyed shaking his head.
“No, I erased the time. You still exist. If you didn’t you wouldn’t be standing here.” He said. You looked a little relived but were still confused and glanced up at the sky as if that would give you an answer.
“I honestly don’t know. I still think that she has him.” You whisper, he looked at you scared and he let out a scream covering his face. You jumped back shock not expecting that. “Frey, what’s wrong?” you ask touching his hands.
“I’m not-” he started but paused looking at you.
“You’re not?” you ask wondering what he was trying to say.
“I’m not… I’m not… sure….” He said and then hugged you tightly; you let out a soft noise. “Stay with me, Virus. Help me find my brother.” He whispered his face looked so sad.
“O-okay.” You say not sure what to say to him. Something was odd, he looked at you and suddenly he kissed you on the lips. Your eyes widen but the kiss… it didn’t feel wrong. You kissed him back, your arms moving around his neck. He picked you up, gripping your back, his hands under the cloak. The next thing you knew you were in the grass, the cloak underneath you. You rolled your fingers through his soft hair, kissing him madly. Your mind was a blur, so scrambled, but ‘I want, I want’ rolled through your head. Suddenly Eibmoz shot into your head and you jolted. “No!” you cried pushing him away from you. He stared at you confused and then looked rather hurt and shunned.
“You’re in love with someone else.” He started, you numbly nodded. He slowly took your hand making you look at him. “If you really love him, you wouldn’t have kissed me back, Virus.” He whispered touching your face, you look down quickly feeling sick in your stomach. “One can fool oneself to believe they feel things, like love, to trick their selves into being happy, or just to have the feeling.” He says softly. “You’re doing that with him, aren’t you?” he asks.
