CHAPTER 2

I am Viola Addington? I asked myself confused while I am still in a dream like state. Could I really be inside my favorite novel? This seemed to good to be true. Is someone messing with me? Did my brain cells went out of my right ears as water starts to drown me? I have so many questions right now, and I don't think anyone would be able to help me.

Viola Addington, The princess of Hermossa. She was only mentioned once in the novel. Nothing much was said other than she died at the age of 20 while she is engaged with the Prince of Solis, Cesar Wylie. In the novel, Cesar Wylie is described to be a good looking but ruthless man with brown hair and sea blue eyes. The story is based on the point of view of the protagonist, Angela Wildebart who's a princess of Alleigh. She falls in love with the crown prince of Cyrius. After overcoming struggles together and defeating Cesar Wylie, like a cliché princess story, have a happily ever after in the end. No background story is known either about Cesar Wylie.

Honestly, now that I think about the plot, why do I even like that book in the first place? The plot is so predictable and cheesy. Damn Jessie, are you a dumbass? Just my luck that I wake up as Viola Addington, the side-character who was so insignificant to the plot that the author only bothers to mentioned her when she died and that her dad mourned deeply for the passing of his daughter. The author didn't even state the reason why she died. What am I going to do now? I have read this book a billion times, but how can I prevent my own death if I didn't even know how Viola died? I always wanted to escape to the novel world, but this is not what I meant!

My inner monologue dream is cut short as the volume of murmurs increased. I slowly opened my eyes and saw the same doctor listening to the commands made by a handsome, tall man with black hair, violet eyes like mine. Well, more precisely it's Viola's eyes, but I'm Viola now. He looks like he is in his mid-40s, he has high cheekbones and is wearing a clothing that you would normally see on TV Shows with medieval Europe themes.

"Listen here, you better start praying to ask God to save you because if something happens to my beloved daughter, you don't even want to know what I would do to you and your family" The man said threateningly, his voice boomed. Based on how similar he and this body look, I would say he is King Alexander Addington, Viola's father.

My dad was about to say something again until he was caught off by my coughing. My throat feels so dry since I haven't drunk any water after I woke up. I was too caught up with this situation that I forgot to ask for water.

Hearing me coughing loudly, the king frantically approaches me, bring a glass of water on my bedside table to my lips. I drank greedily, finishing the glass of water in a few gulps. "My daughter! How are you feeling?" The king looked at me, concerned. "Dad" I said hoarsely. I saw my dad's eyes lit up. "yes, sweetheart?" he rubbed my hair gently. Damn, is this king truly my dad? F**k it, I'll ask more later, I'm hungry. Priorities sis.

"Dad, I'm hungry" I said, attempting to look pitiful so he will take me to eat as soon as possible. "Alright sweetheart, I'll carry you to the dining room and get the cook to make you your favorite dishes" The king slid one of his arms under my knees and one of his hand on my back, securing me before he carried me off to the dining room.

Before we leave my room, my dad turned back to the doctor "you are lucky nothing happens to my daughter" and he went out of the door and into the hallway.

The hallway is beautiful. The right wall of the hallway towards the dining hall is adorned with colorful stain glasses allowing the sunlight to gently illuminate the room. Paintings and other gorgeous artworks are also displayed on the left side of the hallway. Crystal chandeliers blinking at me as I stare at them. Walking through the hallway left me in awe. If I have a chance, I'm going to explore the castle. I have never been to a castle. Well, I have never been anywhere because I have to study and maintain my marks back in university. When I am not studying, I am busy working part-time as a waitress in a small cafe. Thinking about it, I wonder how everyone is after I died. I hope they're not taking the news too hard. Exploring the castle will be interesting. Maybe there are some answers on why I ended up here.

Finally, we reached the dining hall. The dining room is majestic. A large painting of a women in an elegant green dress is framed in what appears to be gold and is hanged on the back wall. A huge window on the right side of the dining hall which allows the sunlight to brighten the room and an elegant white fire place on the left. In the middle of the room is the long mahogany dining table with atlease eleven chairs on each sides and 1 chair at the end. My dad set me down slowly on one of the mahogany dining chair before asking for one of the servants to bring us my favorite food. I wonder if the food here is the same as the food back home or do they their own food?

Not long after my dad's order, two servants comes in with the food. They set down the food on the table and left after my dad commanded them to leave us alone. Apparently, Viola's favorite food is chicken alfredo pasta that is super creamy. For a tiny girl, Viola's appetite sure is big. I love chicken alfredo! It's my favorite dish! I remember of how my mom used to cook for me with her "special" chicken alfredo recipes. I suddenly feel a huge wave of sadness as I think about my mom and my family. My little brother, Jason. We used to fight a lot. When I say a lot, I mean it. We fight almost everyday over mostly petty stuff like stealing snacks at home. I hope they're okay. As I think about them, I started to cry.

"Hey, do you feel hurt? Why are you crying? Let dad know! Is it the food? I'll talk to the cook right now!" Dad puts down the utensils for his chicken alfredo and is about to get up from his seat. "No! It's okay, I just" I paused as I try to contain my tears. "I just want to say, thank you dad" I said softly, hoping that my dad and mom back in my own world could hear me. I twirled the pasta on my fork and eat it. It tastes so good! Heaven!

Everything resumed back. We did not talk that much, but the silence is not awkward. It is quite comfortable. This feels so different from back home, dinner is always rowdy, especially with me and Jason fighting for food. I remember how dad asked me and Jason to share the last biscuits. We both have trust issues, so we use a ruler to make sure it is equal. Looking back, it is quite funny, not going to lie.

After finishing my dish, dad asked me if I wanted to rest again. As a self-proclaimed professional sleeper, of course I do! So I nodded and he carried me back again to my room. I'm going to start thinking of a plan to survive once my dad left me.

Just as my dad lays me down on the bed, a frantic knock is heard. "Wait a second sweetheart, I'll be back" Dad said and he open the bedroom door.

"what?" Dad said sounding displeased. I can't look at his face, but I can tell, he looks menacing. "Apologies for disturbing you but his highness, Prince Cesar and his majesty, King Julian has arrived for the engagement agreement" The butler looked surprised as if he did not look like he did not expect the arrival of Prince Cesar.

What?! So, I am already engaged with him? The villain in the book? F**** my life. I am dead. I am dead for sure.

 I am dead for sure
