Apollo Pov:

I was in my beast form, the chocolate fur of my wolf gently blowing in the early morning breeze. it was probably eight-thirty and it was my eighth lap around the human's town. I had stronger senses in my beast form, and as a wolf, it was easier to make my way beneath bushes without my fae form height getting in the way.

I lifted my head, taking in a breath through my nose as I did every so often. Nothing. I didn't expect to find anything for a long time. the letter from Ethari would have been quick to travel by a faery with a bird-related beast form, but the idea of killing the humans would have to travel across the world before it got to us.

I just hoped it didn't end up reaching us. I doubted that would happen if the meeting with the humans were anything to go by. Many of the faeries still held annoyance and remorse for the humans that were supposedly supposed to destroy the world. Then there were some who thought fae were the support race and should be the only intelligent being to roam the earth.

Werewolves, vampires, witches, and the like used to live on the earth too, until the faeries wiped them out because they also posed a threat. The humans only recently became a problem, and they were completely powerless as of now, just like how the other races started.

I supposed that's one of the reasons a lot of the fae want the humans dead. They have the potention to develop into something dangerous and the last times we had allowed that to happen many wars had occurred.

The vampires were the first to appear. I wasn't sure where exactly they came from or from what species they evolved from, but I knew some of their basic history from the books in the library. They had seemed harmless at first, taking blood from animals and wincing at the sunlight, but when they gained super speed and set their sights on faeries, the courts came together to take them out.

A similar thing happened with the werewolves. They lived in packs but their morals and expectations made faeries a target. Despite having been warns, they began killing the lesser fae ranks, so once again the courts killed them off.

Sometimes I wonder if there are werewolves or vampires or other species out there that the faeries hadn't wiped out like they thought they had. I highly doubted it, but it would be interesting to meet one of them anyways.

if I was one of the ones in charge, I wouldn't have killed any of them. I would have made some sort of mutual benefit between us so we could both get something out of it. I guess the way of the fae is war and killing.

I had yet to take a life, but training always gave me a pleasurable buzz. Moving at incredible speeds with a lethal weapon was a thrill and having the strength to keep it up for long periods of time was even cooler. Just thinking about it made my paws itch to swing my sword even if it was just through the air.

I took a calming breath, focusing on the scents and sights around me.

A few hours later and I trotted up to the main gate, pulling my fae form forward, my clothes magically appearing back onto my body. I adjusted my clothes, nodding at Artemis as she left the gates.

"Good luck. Nothing was out there," I said with a nod. Artemis waved before jogging away and vanishing behind the leaves. I looked at Mark. "Jasper will be here in a moment to trade with you, he isn't too far behind."

"Thanks, Prince Apollo."

"Mmm," I hummed in reply, walking into the village and glancing around. Maybe I could get some training in, but I wasn't sure if they had an area for that. I rested my hand on the hilt of my sword, tracking the leather grip with my fingers and chewing on my bottom lip. Perhaps Jasper would spar with me.

I paused, turning around. I wasn't too far from he gate and Jasper would most likely check in with me anyways. I could tell his presence was getting stronger and knew I would soon see him at the gates. The fae warrior appeared, nodding at Mark before meeting my eyes and nodding as he walked towards me.

"P- Apollo, would you like to spar?" He asked. I almost smirked, but kept myself composed as I nodded.

"Yes. I think I saw a clearing when I was patrolling, it is quite far from the village," I suggested. He nodded his head, offering a smile as he turned to the gate, waiting so I could lead the way.
