Apollo pov:

I slowly sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. My muscles protested my movements, still sore from yesterdays battle. I leaned over my mate, giving him a gentle kiss on the cheek. I had woken up four hours ago to help with the bodies, but I had gone back to sleep afterwards.

"Unfortunately, I can't sleep any longer." I told him gently. He opened his eyes slightly, setting a hand on my cheek. The kiss to my lips was soft.

"Okay. Do you want me to get up as well?" He asked, eyes still half closed, his face scrunching up in that adorable way that meant he was trying to stop himself from yawning. I shook my head.

"You can sleep longer, you need it." I said. He narrowed his eyes slightly.

"You need it too." He mumbled. I shrugged, pulling the blanket up to his shoulders and tucking him in. "You need it more," he added persistently. I kissed him again to quiet him.

"Not really. I need to make sure everyone is fine." I explained. He gave me a meaningless glare.

"You woke up earlier to see if they were fine. Go to sleep now." He complained. He squirmed for a moment to release his arms from the blanket, wrapping them around my shoulders and pulling me down towards the bed.

"I need to see if they are fine now. You knkw humans can get infections. Someones would could have gotten worse." I supported my words. He didn't let go of his arms. "Oliver." I whined slightly. He sighed, knowing perfectly well I wouldn't force him to let go.

"Fine. You can go, but when you come back you are sleeping for at least eight hours straight." He said, determination set in his features. I nodded, his arms falling back to his sides. Then I got dressed, my movements slowly than usual. After I got my pants on, I gave up on using my hands. I imagined my shirt on my body, dipping my fingers into the well of my magic, the clothing items appearing on my body.

"Goodnight, mate. I'll be back soon." I told him after gettinf dressed, waving slightly as I left and shut the door behind me. The hallway was empty, but I could hear the breaths of sleeping faeries. I sighed softly, making my syeps silent as I headed down the stairs and into the kitchen. No one was there either, but that made it easy to grab an apple and go.

I stepped out onto the cobblestone street, glancing around the empty roads with a slight frown as I took a bite of my apple. I doubted the children would be sleeping this long. Shouldn't some of them be outside playing?

I turned towards the building that held the humans who had been injured, silently stepping inside. The smell of disinfectant was strong, but I couldn't smell the slightly rotten scent of an infection.

"Apollo, checking up on everyone again?" A female asked as she rung out a towel into a bucket. She was sitting beside a patients bed, cleaning the male's wound again. I padded towards her, nodding my head.

"I am." I replied. "Is everyone healthy?" I asked. She sighed softly, nodding her head.

"Yes. The wounds are healing very slowly though. Is that because if the fae magic?" She guessed. I spread out my senses and I did feel the slight buzzing of magical energy coming from the human's wounds.

"I believe it is. I could remove it, but the process is painful." I explained. She considered it.

"How does removing it work?" She asked curiously.

"I destroy the magic with my own, but the magic is infused into the wound meaning I would be destroying a thin layer of flesh as well. I've done it to myself, but I have a much high pain tolerance than humans." I added. She sighed softly, but then the patient she was working on spoke up.

"How much faster will the healing be?" The man asked. I stared at his wound. It was a large cut on his leg thatalmost went deep enough to cause serious damage and blood loss. He wouldn't be walking any time soon if the healing was slow.

"If it took a month to heal to a scar, it would take a week if I use my magic to boost the healing. Both would be painful. The slower I do it, the less painful but the longer it will take. The faster I do it, the more painful." He pursed his lips thoughtfully at my words.

"Do it slowly first. If I cant handle the pain you can stop." He said with a shrug. Kyra moved her rag away, silently nodding in approval. I sighed, kneeling beside the bed and cover the wound with my hand.

"It will hurt." I told him, sensing the magic  in the wound. There was quite a bit, and I wouldn't be surprised if a faery had been using a weapon similar to Calix's. He offered a small smile.

"It will heal faster, so its worth it." He replied. I rolled my eyes. Then I dipped a finger in my magic well, drawing on tiny bits of my magic to peel away the layer of magic inside the would. His face contorted with pain, but he didn't cry out. As I stripped away the magic tainted flesh with my own power, I replaced it with my own magic that would help it to heal faster. It was draining, the magic power in my well dipping further and further down. I pulled away.

"I can't do any more. I used too much of my magic and it hasn't refilled yet. Has Artemis come by yet?" I asked. He shook his head.

"I haven't seen the princess." He replied. A little sigh leaving his lips. "It already feels better, even if you couldn't do it all." He said, giving me a smile.

"Well, if Artemis come to check on you, ask her to finish. She was taught how to do it as well." I explained. Although I couldn't do it before Ari taught me how to use basic magic.

"Apollo... I don't think she'll come in here." Kyra said, staring down at her feet. My eyebrows pulled together.

"Why wouldn't she? We're here to take care of you guys. That means your health as well. Not to mention the fact you fought with us," I added. Both of them were smiling at me.

"You'll be a good king." Kyra said. "I used to think you were scary. Everyone avoided you and you always had this intimidating energy around you. Now I know You're really nice and you care about everyone, even if they're rude to you." She said, her smile only growing. I tilted my head to the side.

"Oh, uh, thank you..." I mumbled, glancing away, my cheeks turning slightly pink at the compliment. I shook my head, standing up. I was a bit off balance with my magic levels so low, and it only made me more tired. "And everyone is okay here?" I asked again, just to clarify. She nodded.

"Yep. You should go take a nap." She suggested. I nodded.

"Good idea."
