SOPHIA
That damned part of a man's body.
You know the one. The one that was usually sufficiently more prominent especially when the guy was super fit...albeit Jack was!
It was now visibly on display as Jack lay on his back, the sheets, a crisp white, laying down at his waist, his exposed, well-defined chest on display.
Sophia lay on her side, one arm tucked up, head resting in the palm of her hand as she continued to watch Jack sleep.
If it was even possible for him to be even more attractive while he was sleeping, that's what he was.
Sophia breathed out a content sigh as she moved and lay on her back as well. Staring up at the ceiling, the ceiling fan spun, around and around, in a continuously motion.
Jack's bedroom was sleek and modern like the rest of his place. Dark hardwood floors paired with cool gray walls. The farest wall was giant plate glass windows running up amd down, giving a magnificent uninterrupted view of downtown.
The rain was still coming diwn quite substantially, albiet with a lot less lightning and thunder. Droplets of rainwater fell down the window in rivulets.
Easton seem to have tired himself out from the the running around.
The bed was huge and provided more then enough space amd was more than enough comfortable for falling into a deep slumber and yet, Sophia still couldn't get to sleep.
Music, she thought. She needed music.
Quiet as a church mouse, she slid as stealthily from the bed as she could manage, as to not wake the mam sleep soundly on the other side. Placing the crisp white comforter down, she padded across the floor and out of the room.
The living room was quiet and dark. Easton was back on the couch, laying on his back, sleeping soundly, all four paws up and occasionally twitching as he slept.
Sophia couldn't help but smiled as she watched the dog. She stepped up to the coffee table and find the remaining beef jerky that sat open. She picked it up and ate a few more pieces before grabbing the CD player.
She actually was starting to grow fond of the small and black, sleek device. Remembering what track she had left off on, she scanned right towards it. The number six appeared on the small display screen as she put the headphones on and pressed play.
Immediately the song started to play. It was some band. A country band. Most of the songs were of the country music variety but still, Sophia didn't mind. They were all nice to listen to.
Somehow this song though got her thinking of her and Jack. Most importantly, the moment, if one could call it that, that happened a few hours earlier.
Granted, yes, they had both had the wind knocked out of them when Easton came barreling past, making them both trip and fall on each othet but something nagged at Sophia that wouldn't stop. It was the feeling that something could've happen tonight if she had the confidence to make it happen.
For a second she thought Jack was going to lean in and when he didn't she should've. But didn't. Why didn't she lean in?
The song seemed to be on the same mind track because a lyric came on, making Sophia smirk.
"Go ahead and kiss me on the mouth. I know you want to and you should've done it by now."
The lyric got in her head and stayed there as she set the CD player back down on top of the coffee table and laid back down on the couch, she walked back to the bedroom. Laying down back in bed, she glanced a peek at Jack's sleeping form, thinking of the lyric.
"So go ahead and kiss me on the mouth. I know you want to and you should've done it by now."
She narrowed her eyes and murmured, more to herself than anything else. "Yes, you should have, Officer Andrews. Yes you should have."
