Lyra had been speed walking towards Cedric in the corridor, dog and dog leash in hand. When she approached, both parties had confessed they needed to talk to eachother.

"Lyra, I think I like you, so I would love to go to the ball with you but-" The smaller girl had cut Cedric off, "Cedric, we both know this won't work. We're too hung up on other people. I know you like Cho, and I think I like Harry, I don't know." The Hufflepuff nodded, ignoring the lingering thought on how the girl knew of his liking to Cho. "You're right. I'll ask Cho to the ball." Lyra smiled at this, "So, Harry, eh?" Cedric teased, the shorter girl giggling in embarrassment, nudging him. "Shut up, he wouldn't like me anyways." Lyra watched as Cedric pet the dog he was well acquainted with.

-----

Lyra had met up with Ron and Harry after dropping Hugo of at her dorm, and were scouting the courtyard, trying to find dates. "Cedric asked me." Lyra piped up, both boys perked up in surprise. "I said no, we both like other people." It took Lyra a minute to realize she just confirmed she liked Harry to herself. She did like Harry. She wanted Harry to go to the ball with her. Is this was crushing on someone felt like? "Harry why don't you ask Cho?" The raven haired boy shurgged at Lyra's suggestion. The three walking, as Harry got rejected by girls in packs. "Lyra, you're gorgeous you'll find a date." Harry smiled, "Yeah, you've fought a dragon!" Ron cheered, making Lyra giggle. Beauxbatons girls had been greeting Lyra, in which Lyra greeted back. Ron had looked at her, "No Ron, I'm not getting one of them as your date." Ron huffed.

-----

The group of four were sat during their study period, Ron moaning about their lack of dates. Blaise Zambini had thrown a paper at Lyra, making Ron and Harry curious. What did Zambini have to say to Lyra?

Will you go to the ball with me? B.Z

The three were shocked. Lyra looked up, animatedly mouthing a "No! Absolutely not," to Blaise, which only made him roll his eyes. "Say, how many boys have you rejected Lyra? Ron asked. Lyra had been rejecting Slytherin gits all week. "That's 12. They're all gits, I tell you. Entitled gits. I don't know what I'm going to do anymore. Oh god!" Lyra huffed. "This is mad. At this rate, we'll be the only one's in our year without dates." Snape had redirected Ron's head to the textbook in front of him, making Lyra stifle a laugh. "Hermione, you're a girl. Come with one of us?" Ron had once again been redirected by Snape, making Lyra giggle even more, Lyra's giggle had made Harry laugh, earning him a smack from Snape. Lyra had focused on her textbook, occasionally listening to how Hermione had a date, which Lyra knew of. Hermione stood up and turned in her book, waving Lyra off and leaving the hall.

-----

Harry had been laying down in the common room, gently playing with Hugo until his thoughts interrupted when Ron came in, a crown of girls surrounding him, including Lyra. "What happened to you?" Harry got up, making space for Ron on the sofa. "Fleur and I were talking, and Ron asked her out!" Lyra squealed, setting Ron on the sofa. "What did she say?" Lyra eyed Harry, sitting next to her distressed friend. "She said no, of course. He kinda, screamed at her. it was frightening. Then he ran."

Harry took Ron to their dorm, and after half an hour Ron was fine, as if nothing happened.

"I asked Cho." Harry slumped onto his bed, a very intrigued Ron next to him. "She said no." Ron looked a tad bit sympathetic. "You should ask Lyra." Harry shook his head, "If this is about her saying no, you're stupid. You have heart eyes for her! Mate, I bet you 10 galleons that if you ask her she'll say yes." Ron nudged Harry as a bit of encouragement. Harry pondered at the thought. "You know what? I'm gonna ask Lyra. When she says no I may be drowning in my own sorrow but at least I would've won the bet." Harry got up, a sense of confidence rushing through him.

-----

Ron and Harry made their way down to the library, finding Lyra and Hermione, talking and giggling. "You're always down at the library." Ron whined. The ginger wasn't accustomed to the library like the girls. "Well maybe if you were a bit more like Lyra and I, you'd be doing better in class." Lyra giggled, before tapping Ron's shoulder and asking to speak to him in private. Once away from the other two, Lyra sighed. "Did he ask Cho to the ball?" Lyra didn't know which answer she was hoping for. "Yeah, she said no, though. Why?" Ron squinted his eyes. Lyra looked down. "Cedric asked her. I told him to because he has a crush on her, I didn't think Harry would ask her." Ron 'ah'd in understanding.

Meanwhile, Harry and Hermione were sitting in silence. "Do you think I should ask her? Lyra." Harry broke the silence. "Sure, she would say yes. Why do you ask?" Hermione questioned, unaware of Harry's intentions. "We kissed, the day of the first task. We were drunk though." Hermione's eyes widened. "You kissed? Oh my god!" Hermione had to be silenced when Lyra and Ron came back. The boys had decided they were bored and left the girls with their books.

"You didn't tell me you and Harry kissed after the first task." Hermione spoke. Lyra groaned, putting her book down. "We were drunk." Lyra rolled her eyes at Hermione's squeal, picking her book back up. "I think you should go to the ball together. You both like eachother! I'll even bet on it with you." Lyra thought about it. The thought of going to the ball with Harry made her heart flutter. "I don't think Harry likes me, but if he does then let's not bet on it, yeah?"

-----

The next day Lyra had her dress for the ball picked out, however she still had no date. She was sat in the common room, petting the dog in her lap and playing Wizard's chess with her Parvati Patel, until the figure of Harry Potter had burst through the common room, striding towards Lyra. "Hello Harry." Lyra greeted sweetly. "Hi. Lyra I was wondering, uhm if you would uh, go to the ball with me?" Harry stumbled on his words. "Sure, I would love to." Lyra flashed him an award winning smile, a blush rising to both of the teenager's cheeks. "Alright, I'll leave you to it then." Harry smiled, tripping over the steps leading to the dorms. Parvati squealed, "Harry just asked you out!" Lyra laughed at her friend's reaction, concealing the excitement bubbling in her stomach. "He probably meant as friends."
