The group of four were trudging back to Hogwarts, their feet heavy with snow, laughs and jokes were shared.
A scream. A scream caused them to look up, seeing the lifeless body of Katie Bell, crying for her friend. Katie's body began to jerk about, levitating high into the air before being dropped down. "Don't get any closer, get back, all of you!" Hagrid ushered the group away, carrying Katie's body.
Lyra got a closer look at the parcel the girl was carrying, before gasping and clutching Harry's hand even tighter. "Harry, it's the necklace!" Lyra bent down near it, being warned by Hagrid.
The Golden Quartet stood, watching as McGonagall dismissed Leanne after a brief questioning. "Why is it when something happens it is always you three?"
"Believe me, professor, I've been asking myself the same question for six years." Lyra kicked Ron's shin, looking back up at the older woman. Severus Snape entered the scene, inspecting the necklace. "I think Miss Bell is lucky to be alive."
"She was cursed, wasn't she? Katie was a lovely friend off the quidditch pitch. She wouldn't hurt anyone!" Lyra's voice wavered "If she was delivering that to Dumbledore, she wasn't doing it knowingly. I promise, Minnie."
"Yes, she was cursed."
"It was Malfoy." Lyra wanted to smack Harry, how could he make that accusation when no one would believe the proof?
"That is a very serious accusation, Potter."
"Your evidence?" Snape glared at the bespectacled boy.
"I just know."
"You just know. You astonish with your gifts, Potter, much like Miss Lexson here. Now tell me, do you just know because you possess the power of legilimency?"
"I suggest you back to your dormitories." Snape and the students left the room, except for Lyra.
"Harry wasn't lying." Lyra's arms wrapped around the older woman, engulfing her in a warm embrace. "We were in Diagon Alley, we saw Malfoy look at the necklace in Borgin and Burkes. I went in, asked to see it but they said it was reserved and wasn't for sale! What could that mean, Minnie!"
"It could mean a lot of things, however in this time we cannot make accusations. I'm sorry." Lyra huffed, "I thought you'd understand." and with that, the girl ran to the Gryffindor common room.

Lyra read the same paragraph of her book over and over again as she continuously buried herself into the soft blankets, unable to concentrate as her mind kept wandering back to the events of the day. Harry sat next to her, Marauder's map in hand.
"What do you suppose Dean sees in Ginny?" Lyra rolled her eyes at Ron's question.
"She's pretty and kind. I'd date her." Lyra replied, giggling at the fake look of offense from Harry. "What does Ginny see in him?" Harry asked, putting the map away and snuggling Lyra under his arm.
"Dean? He's brilliant."
"You called him a slick git five hours ago, Ron." Lyra laughed, breathing in the scent of the boy next to her.
"He was running his hands all over my sister. Something snaps, and you've gotta hate him, you know? On principle."
"I suppose. Kind of seems like Lyra's brother isn't a fan of me." Harry snorted, the laugh faltering as his girlfriend playfully hit him across the chest. "What is it he sees in her, Harry?"
"I don't know. She's got nice skin." Lyra burst into loud laughter
"You think Dean's dating my sister because she's got nice skin?" Lyra laughed even louder, praying she didn't wake anyone up. "I hope you're not dating me for my skin, love."
