i drive by avani's house to drop her off. i lean over and give her a kiss before she leaves.

avani : call me every day, continue to text me, don't talk to strangers, and most importantly, be safe. i love you. i'll see you soon.

she kisses me again and gets out of her car and goes inside.

i drive to the hotel that tia told me to go to. i check in and find my room which is a room that was on the fifth floor.

i start crying as i sit on my bed with my suitcases around me. i called devyn. luckily she answers.

me : hey dev.
dev : oh my god, bae. what's wrong? where are you?
me : my uh d-dad kicked me out.
dev : WHY?
me : he's not happy that i'm bi.
dev : i'm so sorry. but seriously, where are you?
me : mattia rented me a hotel.
dev : you're not old enough to stay there yourself. mattia's not even old enough either.
me : i know. but my cousin works here. he's 20. so i got in free, and he's like my "guardian" right now.

i hear a knock on my door.

me : one second devvy.

i hang up and set my phone on the bed and i go open my door. it's my cousin, bryce.

me : it's good to see you again.
bryce : i know. it's been a long time.
me : yeah.
bryce : how are you holding up?

we go sit on the bed.

me : well, considering the fact i'm homeless, not good. not good at all.

my phone starts ringing and it's avani and i answer it.

me : hey avani. 
avani : i talked to my mom and i promise i tried so fucking hard to get her to let you move in, but she won't let you. i'm so sorry.
me : it's okay, babe. i promise. i'm sure i'll find someone else to live with. thank you for trying.
avani : you're welcome. be safe, i love you, baby.
me : i love you too, av. bye.
avani : bye.

i hang up and look at bryce. he's got a confused look on his face.

me : no i couldn't.

me : i'm 17. everyone else is so much older than me.

me : but there's no one my age.

me : you really want a girl there?

bryce : as long as you don't try to hook up with any of my boys, you'll be good.
