Chapter 8: Coastal Manor

Liv's Point of View 

The car rolls through a smooth pathway through some trees and plants as we get to a metal black gate. Cole hits the breaks and slows as we approach a small gate house. Cole rolls down the window to talk to a man who has a name tag named Mr. Snow. 

"Hello sir we would like to see Mr. Rose please?" Cole asks politely. Mr. Snow looks at his watch which is plastered with silver and gold. 

"What is your purpose here", he questions us. Cole and I look back at Lilly who is now looking to be sobering up as she is biting or at least trying to bite the tape. 

"Mr. Snow we have his daughter" I reply with a smile and my eyes wide open to show the seriousness of the situation. 

He looks and then looks back to see Lilly, "Oh my" he yells and opens the gate letting us through. As we drive up both me and Cole are caught off guard by this stunning house. 

The house has a circle for a driveway and a fountain in the center. The fountain shoots up water thirty feet high into the air with a mist spreading through the atmosphere around it. The sun hits the glass ceilings hard. The sun falls giving the mansion and its surrounds an orange glow. 

The mansion so white, pure, and clean. On one side it seems to have an infinity waterfall that falls into a mini pond surrounded by rocks, blue/purple flowers, and lily pads with white flowers on top of them growing in the summers glow. 

Our breath was literally taken away and I can't even imagine the inside or the backyard. Cole parks the car where I am assuming staff opens his door as Lilly kicks him in the neck as he falls out of the car hitting the ground hard. "Oh my god Cole" I scream as a staff member runs over to him. "Lilly what the f..." she cuts me off and starts to choke me. Holding some tape up to my throat choking me. The tape is tangled up and I start to gasp for air. My hands reach for something but there is nothing. Suddenly the choking stops just as the back door opens. I get out of the car and collapse to the concrete for air. A man dressed in fancy clothing helps me to my feet. 

"Hello mam, I am Mr. Howard Rose and you brought back my daughter", he says with an angry tone. Cole walks over and we see Lilly knocked out on the floor with a needle in her neck. "Oh that's just something to help her become sober and she almost killed you haha" he says opening the doors to his kingdom welcoming us in. 

As Cole and I enter this palace of a house a man dressed head to toes in perfection offers us cheese, crackers, and wine on a silver platter. I take it all in and look upon the white and gray marble walls, the clean cut silk curtains, and the most lovely decorations and furniture. Mr. Rose asks, "Come into my office please, Mr. White please bring our friends more food and snacks prepare them for lunch please in the dining room?" Mr. Rose shuts the door to his study and then sits behinds is huge desk. 

"Thank you sir for inviting us into your home", I claim with a smile. 

"Or should we say castle", Cole jokes making Mr. Rose let out a small chuckle. 

He clears his throat sitting in his office chair as if it were his throne. "Listen, I can't thank you enough for bringing my daughter back, my wife has not been the same for the past four months. She has feared her daughter would never come home. My wife has dreamed of this day and so we thought about it and you two need to be rewarded!". 

"Sir you do not need to reward us, we are friends with Lilly and right now she needs you guys." Cole says looking into my eyes.

"Yes I agree but unfortunately tonight my wife and I are going on a plane to fly over to San Francisco to go to the beaches and walk the californian streets" Mr. Rose claims drinking a glass of wine. 

"Then take Lilly" I say with a huge smile as the butler comes in signaling us for lunch. As I walk out of the office doors and into the dining room I stop to look at all the food. There is sushi, fruit, cookies, cheese platters, and mini subs decorated with toothpicks. We all sit down and our plates are placed in front of us. 

Mrs. Rose walks into the room and is greeted with a kiss on the cheek by her husband as they sit down. Mrs. Rose grabs my hand, "I cannot thank you enough for bringing back my daughter, there is nothing like losing a loved child". 

Lilly comes rushing into the dining room and slaps her mom in the face. "Listen mom you did not lose me I left. You guys do not love me and don't even try. And tonight when I am finally home you are leaving me!" Lilly breaks down in tears and falls to the floor. 

"Oh please Lilly your a junkie and still hung over so please apologize to your mother now!" Mr. Rose shouts slamming his fist into the table. 

"Screw you father, I am sober enough to know what I am talking about. You guys should leave anyway. Go!" Lilly screams in sadness and frustration. Her parents leave the dining are and I look over to Cole who is scuffing the fine dining down his throat.

Lilly leaves in tears and heads to her bedroom as Cole and I make small talk and eat something after all we are kind of hungry. 

After about a hour I head to see Lilly to alert her that parents are gone. Cole and I enter her lavish room that has light gray painted walls and glass walls. "Lilly your parents left for the airport are you okay?" I question sitting on her bed trying to comfort her. 

"No I am not fine get out" she demands looking to door. Cole and I start to head for the door when she says, "Wait can you stay the night I need you guys right now". I walk over and hug her tight as she lets out the tears. As I do thunder strikes and the power goes out making us all look around. 

We all panic a little until lightning flashes the room and hard rain falls outside. My phone begins to ring and so scared I answer without questioning it. "Hello Liv, you ready for the games to begin" my eyes open wide and the phone drops to floor. My heart plummets into my stomach scared for my life.
