"This is harder than I thought!" You yelled and you plunged your sword into one of the guards' chest.
"You have no idea!" Your partner, Loki, responded. You had been sent on a mission by your master to retrieve the space stone which was housed inside of the tesseract. At that moment, a bullet pierced through your side. You clutched where you had been shot and fell to the ground. Loki rushed to you and killed the rest of the people. "Hey, hey, hey. Come on. We'll get you back to base. Don't worry." He said reassuringly. Your colleague wrapped your arm around his shoulder and pulled you back to your feet. Loki pressurised the wound using a piece of cloth and you headed back to where the ship was hovering.
"We failed the mission." You said guiltily, looking at the man standing next to you.
"Don't worry. He'll understand." Loki stated. "Hopefully..." You gulped anxiously. You knew that he didn't mean this as a joke. You smiled tentatively as the lift came to a stop. The pair of you stepped out of the elevator where you saw your boss. You each shared a concerned look and walked to the trial station.
"Well... How did it go?" He inquired.
"Their defences are low, most of the guards are dead and the tesseract is hardly protected." Loki replied. You turned to him with a face full of confusion.
"Where is it?" Thanos growled.
"We failed the mission Master." You said bowing as you spoke.
"YOU WHAT?!?!" He hissed.
"Told you." The mind message you sent to Loki said. He sighed hesitantly before saying
"Sir, if you could give us one more chance, I promise you, we would be capable of completing the mission." He begged.
"I will let you go, but she has to stay with me." Thanos sneered gesturing towards you. Your heart was pounding, but there was nothing that you could do. The bullet was still in your body and stinging like mad. Loki looked at you with fear and dread for what was going to happen to you. He let go of you and you fell to the floor. He bent down to help you but you raised your hand and said.
"I'm fine." He nodded with reluctance painted all over his face. It was clear that he didn't want to leave you and that he didn't trust whatever Thanos wanted to do with you. Loki gave you one more frightened look before leaving. Inside, you wanted him to stay; but knew that it would just make matters worse for both of you.
"You're weak." Your boss insulted, kicking you in the head.
"So would you if you'd just been shot." But these words didn't help much with his temper. If anything, it made him more furious. He crouched down next to you and grabbed your lower jaw. The evil psychopath wrapped his hand around your wrist and chucked you into the wall. You grunted and were winded by his actions. The blood in your mouth, you spat out onto the floor. His minions carried you over to a metal chamber where you were chained down and tortured. Paralysed, you lay there helplessly. His touch was electrifying and sent shivers down you spine and your eyes grew wide. What happened next was virtually indescribable.
