To say Percy was jealous was an understatement. Of course, he was overjoyed that Leo was smiling again. He loved the fact that Leo could still laugh the way he always did.
But he couldn't help but want to be that person. He couldn't help but want to be the person who could make Leo smile, the person who was making Leo laugh.
Maybe it was the way that Leo's laugh would make the room feel brighter, or how his smile shined brighter than Apollo's.
Whatever it was, Percy hated the fact it was Luke walking hand and hand with Leo and not him.
Percy watched more as they laughed and smiled, sitting at the back of the room in the corner.
"Master Percy," Nico after rather loudly, appearing behind him.
"Nico, shhhh,"
"I am sorry. May I ask why your lips do not form a upward position and why your eyes are leaking a clear liquid that expresses sadness?"
"You mean why I'm sad?"
"precisely,"
His wave of sadness was washed over by confusion. Percy knew the spell made nico different, but the boy had lost all ways of his normal life. All of his personality.
"Nico? Do you have any personality?"
"No, I thought personalities would anger master Percy,"
"It won't, and Nico, I'm not sad,"
"Oh right. You are what they call 'so jelly it's messy'"
~time skip~
"Hey perce!" Luke said rather happily.
Percy put on a fake happy smile, "Hey Luke, what's up?"
"I was gonna see if you wanna train? Leo's bush with stuff, so I was just gonna see if you were,"
"Yeah, I'm free. Wanna go hard? Easy? What?"
"Take your best shot at me,"
"Great,"
The two boys soared, each going faster and harder as the time went on. Luke was training, but Percy was using all the rage he had.
Without realizing it, he had thought Luke would dodge, but the blond didn't.
And that's how riptide ended up in Luke's stomach.
