Lucy's POV
To say I was pissed when the Magic Council showed up to "arrest" Erza, would be the biggest understatement of the century. I knew they were just using her as some sort of scapegoat, but even so, I couldn't just let them get away with it. I've always hated most of the council. The only one I can really stand is Yajima.

So, after the guild was completely busy taking care of Natsu, I immediately headed in the direction of the council building. Yes, I knew where it was. In fact, I'd been there before. The council knows me very well. They also know what happens when they mess with me.

Once I finally made it, I walked up to the big front doors, only to be stopped by guards. Not in the mood to fight, I simply allowed some of the magic power I posses to release itself from my body. This sent an energy wave out of me, sending all the guards flying backwards.

I continued into the building and noticed every one of the servants and guards cowered at the sight of me. I payed as little attention to them as I could. Being feared isn't something I really want, but, it's not something I have been able to control, either.

Once I finally made it to the doors where the trial was taking place, I wasted no time in bursting through. Whoever was talking before I came in stopped and looked in my direction. Erza was standing in the middle of the room and staring at me in shock. I guess she didn't expect this of me.

"Lucy, what are you doing here?" She asked.

I gave her a small smile before turning back to the projections of the Magic Council. I gave each of them their own individual glare, a glare that deepened when my eyes landed on Seigrain. "I don't appreciate when people mess with those I care about." I said in a cold voice.

I saw some of the council shiver, slightly. "What do you mean, Miss-"

I stopped the council member before he could say my last name. "Right. I guess you don't know." I said. "I am the newest member of the Fairy Tail Guild, and as it so happens, I have learned to care for each and every person in that guild." The tone of my voice made them shake. All except Seigrain, anyway. Although, that is to be expected from someone who is possessed. I can't really blame him.

"We have to keep balance." One of the members started in a shaky voice. "If we let her off, others will think they can get away with stuff like this, too."

I shot a glare in his direction, which caused him to shrink even farther down into his seat. "Do you think I care? I don't. I don't care about what the council thinks, or what they can do. There is only one member on this council I even remotely like. Now, as i said before, I don't appreciate my friends being turned into scapegoats. So let's forget this ever happened and let Erza go. If it makes you feel any better, you can say you are releasing her into my custody." The tone of my voice told everyone there was no room for arguements. I glanced at Yajima, and he was the only one not shaking, besides Seigrain. In fact, he was looking down at me with a proud look on his face. "Now, I will be taking my leave." I turned to Erza and uncuffed her by breaking the cuffs in half. I walked her to the door and was about to go, before I turned back to the council on last time. "If I ever find out you tried this again, I won't be nearly as kind as I was this time. Do I make myself clear?" They gave me rapid nods, and satisfied with their answers, I left the room.

Erza and I were currently on a train headed back to Magnolia. The compartment was filled with silence. Since we left the Magic Council, Erza hasn't said a word. I have a feeling that's my fault.

"Lucy." Erza said, making me look away from the window and at her. "What happened back there?"

I gave her a confused look. "What do you mean?"

"The council. Most of them were terrified of you. I guess I just want to know why."

I turned back to the window without saying a word. After a few minutes of silence, I finally answered. "The council and I... well I guess you could way we have a history. My birth father was a very powerful man. Every higher up in Fiore knew about him. He's rich, he's powerful, and he had influence over others."

"Had?" Erza asked.

I nodded with a small smile. "Had. I was his influence." When I saw the questioning look on Erza's face, I continued. "Basically, he used me as his muscle. Because of how powerful I am, people quickly learned to fear him, in fear that he would send me after them. I never wanted to hurt anyone, but he had a way to... keep me in line, I suppose. Anyway, one day, he got in trouble with the Magic Council, so, once again, he sent me to deal with the problem. I found their base and broke in within two minutes. For a tower guarded by a small army, it was pretty easy to get into. My job was to 'teach' the council a lesson. So, I did. I defeated every single one of them in under twenty minutes."

I looked up at Erza with a guilty expression. I was expecting her to be angry at me, but she wasn't. The look on her face was sad. "I think I've got your personality almost figured out." She said.

"Oh?"

"You hide your real emotions behind a smile. You have a temper that easily flares up, and it's hard for you to control it. You're protective and very caring. You so what you need to do to keep everyone around you and yourself, alive. Lucy, you are a survivor."
