After four years of living with her parents, Lucy couldn't be happier. They had taught her to speak, to walk, to run, and even a little bit of hand to hand combat. Every now and then, they would talk about the possibility of teaching her magic but always waited until she wasn't around.
One day, while Lucy was out walking through the woods close to her family's cave, she heard a low growl behind her. She turned around to see a large wolf snarling and circling her. It barred it's fangs and slowly closed in on her. She whimpered and did the only thing she could at that moment. She screamed.
Her scream made the wolf feel threatened and it jumped at her. As it was about to dig it's fangs into the young girl's arm, a familiar man tackled it and struggled. Lucy continued to breathe heavily until she felt warm arms wrap around her. Then, she was being carried.
Once she was back in the safety of her parent's home, she looked up to see that it was her mother who had taken her here. Tears sprung into her eyes and she jumped into her mother's awaiting arms.
Melody stroked her daughter's head as she sobbed into her shoulder. Knowing Lucy was in her arms, she slowly allowed herself to calm. When she heard Lucy scream, her and Draco immediately jumped up and ran towards the sound, begging and praying to anyone who was listening to keep their baby girl safe until they got to her themselves.
Soon enough, Lucy fell asleep in her mother's arms. Melody carried her over to her makeshift bed and layed her down. She kissed her head and then whispered, "Goodnight my Little Symphony."
As she walked away, she somehow found herself at the edge of the cave. She leaned against the wall, looking outside. She slowly slid to the floor and pulled her knees to her chest. She buried her head in them and slowly unraveled. As she silently sobbed into her knees, she didn't realize her husband was back until he was sitting next to her and had pulled her into his lap, wrapping his arms around her as he rocked back and forth.
He silently hushed her, trying to keep the own fear he had felt moments ago at bay. Once Melody had calmed herself, she leaned against Draco's chest and sighed.
"Draco?" She said, weakly. "I think we need to teach her our magic."
He simply stared at her. She could tell he was having a debate inside himself. "You want to turn her into a Dragon Slayer?" He verified. She nodded at him. Draco sighed. "You do realize that this would be going against the Dragon Queen, correct? She said only dragons with the main elements could raise Dragon Slayers."
"I know, but right now, I dont care. I just want her to be safe." She said, as tears formed in her eyes again. "I can't stand the thought of her getting hurt. If it makes it any better, we can tell her not to use it unless it's an emergency situation."
Draco sighed. He knew she was right but he was scared of what would happen if Lucy was caught. She would be the only one of her kind without a main element, not only that but she would also have two different elements at her disposal... but she would be safe.
"Alright. We can ask her when she wakes up. For now, we should let the Little Star rest."
3 Years Later
It had been three years since they had decided to train Lucy to become a Dragon Slayer and they realized she was a natural. At seven years of age, she had already mastered Celestial Dragon Slaying and had almost mastered Sound Dragon Slaying. She was definitely making her family proud, although that never eased their concerns for her.Being the only one of her kind, Lucy was extremely powerful and unique. Many people would like to have that power, and some would do anything to get it. That included, hurting her. They already had taught her not to use them in front of people unless it was an emergency and she understood their reasoning. What she didn't know, was this would be the last day she would see one of her parents for years.
"Lucy!" Her mother called from inside the cave, her voice deep while in her dragon form. "It's time to come home." Her voice was slightly depressed, and noticing this, Lucy hurried home, quickly.
When she reached the cave, she immediately spotted her mother and father in the corner of the cave. She ran over and hugged Melody's leg asking, "What's wrong, Mommy? You sounded sad."
Melody and Draco allowed a small smile to form on their faces knowing that their daughter knew them so well. "Your father and I need to tell you something, and we don't think you're going to like it."
"It's okay, Mommy! No matter what, you'll always be my mommy and daddy." She said with a smile.
"Honey, I have to go away for a couple of years." Draco said, quietly.
"Why?" Lucy asked with tears forming in her eyes.
"Well, there is a war happening between dragons. I need to go help. Trust me when I say, if I didn't have to go, I wouldn't."
Lucy nodded as tears rolled down her cheeks. "Okay, Daddy. I understand. Please just come back home soon."
Draco gave her a sad smile and said, "I'll try." He wasn't about to make a promise he didn't know if he could keep, especially to his daughter. He gave his wife one last hug, not bothering to hide the tears rolling down his snout, and then turned to Lucy. He leaned down until he was eye level with her. "I'll miss you my Little Star. Keep Mommy protected for me, alright?" Lucy nodded and hugged his snout tightly. Draco closed his eyes, enjoying the warmth she gave him. Once she let go, he opened his eyes and stood up. He walked outside of the cave, giving them one last sad smile, and then took off into the sky.
It had been a year since Draco left, and Lucy and Melody were doing pretty well. They had finished her Sound Dragon Slaying and were now just relaxing in their cave. Every now and then, Lucy would ask Melody if Draco was still okay. Seeing as she was his mate, she could tell if he was hurt or dead. Right now, he seemed to be doing completely fine.
They were both talking in the cave when Melody perked up. She tensed immediately after and let a low growl escape her mouth. Seeing her mother's behavior, Lucy knew that something was wrong.
"Mommy, what is it?" Her eight year old daughter asked.
"Lucy, I need you to go out the back entrance of the cave, now. Run, and don't stop." Melody ordered, quietly.
Lucy tried to argue, knowing that if she left Melody would be in even more danger, but Melody just used her tail to shove her to the back entrance. She gave her a look, telling her not to argue. Seeing she wasn't getting anywhere, she gave her mother one last worried look and ran.
After a while of running, she decided to take a break. It was dark and she didn't know where she was. She had never ventured this far away from her home.
As she began to dose off, she heard twigs snapping in the direction she had come from. She jumped up in time to see a blonde haired man with a blonde mustache emerge from the woods with two men in armor.
"Grab her." He said, pointing at Lucy. She turned and tried to run, only for the two men to grab her arms and hold her. The blonde haired man walked in front of her and looked down at her as she struggled to free herself. He grabbed her chin to make sure she was looking at him. "Now Lucy, my name is Jude Heartfilia and you are my daughter. I want you to forget whatever it is that those beasts have taught you."
"No! You're not my daddy! I won't forget my mommy!"
Jude growled. "There's no point in remembering something that is dead."
Lucy immediately stopped struggling. She looked up as tears fell from her eyes. "What?" She whimpered.
"That beast you claim to be your mother is dead. I killed her." Lucy looked down as pain, sadness, depression, anger, and hatred built up inside of her. Jude smirked at her defeat. "Come on you two. We're taking my dear daughter home."
Inside the cave, a great magical presence began to build up. The purple dragon who had, just a few moments ago, stopped breathing, opened her eyes. She slowly raised her head and tried to let out all the anger she had in an ear piercing roar.
"I will find you!"
