Lucy's POV
After Erza and I got back to the guild, everyone was too busy celebrating to ask how I got her back. Luckily, Erza agreed not to say anything about what I told her to anyone. Seeing as I told her about my past, she told me about hers. Honestly, there are a few things from her story I can relate to.Anyway, after everyone was distracted, Master walked over to me and told me to follow him to his office. I had an idea of what this was about, but, kept my mouth shut. I figured if I was wrong then it would be best to keep it to myself for the time being.
Once we reached his office, Master put up a rune to keep anyone who may be trying to listen from hearing anything. Then, he turned his attention to me. "Thank you for coming up here with me, Lucy."
I nodded. "Of course. I have an idea about what this discussion will be involving, so I figured I should get it out of the way as quickly as possible."
"Right. Well, anyway, I'm not sure if you know this but, Yajima and I are sold friends. When he finally got you to join the guild, he sent a letter to me as soon as he could. In other words, I know a little about your story, and I won't force you to tell me anything, but I'm curious about the rest."
I sighed. "I thought so. Well, as you may know, I'm a dragon slayer. Like Natsu, I have a heightened sense of smell and my hearing is very sensitive. Although this is the case, there are many differences between Natsu and I. For starters, I don't control any main elements." When I saw the confused look on his face, I explained further. "The main elements are fire, wind, iron, earth, water, light, and darkness or shadow. Those are all the main elements I can think of. Now, the thing is, dragons without the main elements weren't supposed to train dragon slayers. So, in other words, I'm one of a kind, for more than one reason."
Master nodded and said, "So, what dragon slayer are you?"
I smiled a little. "I'm the Celestial and Sound Dragon Slayer. My parent's names are Melody and Draco. I'm assuming you can tell which dragon is which by the names."
"The Celestial and Sound Dragon Slayer?" He questioned.
I chuckled a little at the look on his face. "Yeah. As it turns out, the Sound Dragon and the Celestial Dragon are mates."
"How did you end up with them?" When he saw my hesitation, he added, "You don't have to answer, of course. I'm just curious."
I gave him a small smile. "My birth father. He um... apparently he didn't like me. He still doesn't, actually, but back then, it was for a completely different reason. As you should know, infants take up a lot of their parent's time. He didn't like that my mother wasn't able to be around him as often, so he got rid of the thing that was taking up so much of her day. Me. I was around two months old. He traveled to one of the biggest forests in Fiore, and once he was really deep in the woods, he left me there. That's where Melody found me and took me home with her to see Draco."
Master nodded in understanding. "What happened to you're birth mother, if you don't mind me asking?"
"As it turns out, my mother cared for me, a lot. So, when my father left me in the forest, he didn't take into account what it would do to my mother. She fell into a deep state of depression after I went missing. There was nothing anyone could have done for her. All she wanted, was for me to come home. She died when I would have been six. After that, somehow, my father got it into his screwed up head that I was the reason she died. So, he came looking for me. He wanted me to suffer."
"Did he ever find you?"
"... He did."
"What is it, Lucy? What did he do?"
"He came to the cave Melody and I were staying in. Draco had left to join some war effort. I don't remember much about it. Melody told me to run and when I said no, she forced me out. I ran as far as I could. I was lost and had no idea how to get home. A few hours later, my father found me. He took me back to his home and started using me and my magic as his influence."
Master was silent for a few moments. "And what of, Melody?"
I took a deep, shaky breath. "As far as I know, she's dead."
Master walked around his desk and to the seat I was sitting on. He pulled me out of the chair and my knees buckled. I fell to the floor and he wrapped me in a warm and gentle embrace.
I felt the tears rolling down my face and the sobs racking my body, but I couldn't hear a thing. I was caught up in the years of grief and pain I was finally letting out. When I had finally calmed down enough, I could finally hear Master's voice.
"There, there child." He said as he patted my back. "I can tell that you've never properly grieved, have you?" When I shook my head, he sighed. "I can't tell you it will be okay, because unless she somehow comes back to you, it will never be completely okay, again. I can't tell you to move on, because you never really will. But I can tell you this. Some days will be worse than others, but when those days arrive, don't focus on the bad things. Focus on the good memories you have with her. Focus on those moments that you locked away in your mind. One day, you will feel better. You may not feel completely fine, but you will feel better." After a few minutes of silence, he gently pushed me back so he could see my face. He kept his hands on my shoulders, providing me with a sense of comfort. "Now, does anyone else know that bit of your story?"
I sniffled. "No. The only one who knows the full story is my spirit, Aquarius. She became a mother figure after Melody. Erza knows a little bit about my father. She knows he used me as influence."
He nodded. "Do you mind if I ask for his name so I can keep an eye out for him?"
"Jude. Jude Heartfilia. Why?"
"If you really were his greatest influence on others, I have a feeling he won't be letting you go so easily."
"I know."
"Now, I want you to go home for a while. Get some rest. I know you have a lot of energy stored up inside you, but you've had a rough day. Come back when you're feeling better."
