Mission | Seventeen au

Confess

After they had finished eating, the shopping continued. Seungcheol, Jeonghan, Joshua, Seokmin and Yugyeom had move as a group. Seokmin and Yugyeom are walking side by side, laughing at each other's words while Seungcheol, Jeonghan and Joshua are walking behind the two. Jeonghan could see that Joshua is wearing a very troubled face so he pat his friend lightly on the shoulder earning a questioning look from Joshua. 

"Shua, what's wrong? You look troubled." 

Joshua could only smile weakly at his friend and turn his head back to the two friends in front of him. He knows that Jeonghan would understand what he was feeling given that they had spend their entire life together since he was adopted by Jeonghan's family.

Joshua was an orphan when Jeonghan and his parents found him lying on the cold tiles behind their family restaurant. That night Joshua was thrown out of his orphanage because the kids had accused him of stealing their food stock. Of course he didn't do it but the guardians didn't believe him thus kick him out of the place. They must be happy to have less burden to feed. The Yoon family had took pity on him and brought him into their household. The first few weeks, Joshua didn't talk much. Only letting his voice out when asked questions but overall, he didn't talk at all. Not until one day Jeonghan gather his courage and talk to Joshua. Joshua had found the older quite friendly and amusing. It felt warm and that was when the two clicked. They had spend time almost all day talking and cracking jokes. Joshua had also told the older about him past. His mother leaving him in Korea so that she was not reminded of his shitty father who had left them right after Joshua was born. She said that Joshua was the cause of it and that she regretted giving birth to him. At first, Joshua was devastated. He thought that he was not needed in this world but after some time had passed from him being not treated well to him being beaten up, he couldn't care less. He want to live his life to the fullest thus why his mother was furious and threw him in Korea before going back to America where he was originally from. 

"It's nothing Han. Its just.. I feel small looking at the two. Like, I don't even know him that well to have him laughing or cracking jokes at whatever it is. You know that I have a crush on Seokmin right. Looking at them chatting and clinging onto each other remind me that he probably didn't even like me like how I like him."

Joshua answer his friend's question. His eyes turned sad despite his smile that was plastered on his face. Jeonghan look at his friend and sigh. He knew that Joshua would sometimes have this kinds of thought. In the past, he had never succeeded in making the awful atmosphere surrounding the younger go away but recently when Joshua was having such thought, it would instantly disappear when he got his eyes on Seokmin. Jeonghan had noticed that and he felt happy just looking at his friend who had helplessly fall in love with that guy. Though Jeonghan had no idea as to how to help when the cause is the said crush. Before Jeonghan could get some reassuring words out of his mouth, Seokmin suddenly turn around and walk towards Joshua with determination in his eyes. Joshua look at the younger approaching and his face is turning red at the sudden approach. Jeonghan and Seungcheol were surprised when Seokmin suddenly took the older's hand and held it tightly in between his own, his face was as red as Joshua's. 

"J..Joshua hyung. I umm have something to tell you. Can we go somewhere else?"

Joshua's brain had shut down at the approach and now when his crush had held his hand tightly, he was praying that his heart wouldn't shut down as well from the rapid beating. Joshua couldn't even get any words out but thankfully manage to nod slowly. Seokmin quickly pull the older towards this one alleyway, mouthing a 'wish me luck' to Yugyeom who had been grinning all the time. Yugyeom nod proudly at his friend and manage to held back a laugh at his friend's beat red face. " Ah~ I wish him luck". 

At the alleyway, Seokmin had stopped when he knew that no one can see them. He turn around and face a blushing Joshua who he assume has been staring at him from earlier. He smile at the older fondly, his earlier blushing face turn into that of a gentle one with a slight pink hue on his cheek. He knew that he had helplessly fall in love with the older from the very first time they met. Just that he brushed it off saying that that was probably some weird affection he was feeling towards someone older who he saw as a brother but as time goes, he found the older sweet and at the same time fragile which makes him want to protect the older. He was contemplating whether to confess but after he saw that Joshua  would constantly peek at him when he was not looking or blush at every words he let out, he was determine to confess. He told Yugyeom about that and the guy had encourage him to confess as quickly as possible to prevent any change of heart which he think was impossible to begin with since Yugyeom thought that his friend was madly in love with Joshua and when Yugyeom saw Joshua's face went downcast when Seokmin had hugged him, he had confirmed that the older was also feeling the same. That was why he push Seokmin to confess now.

Seokmin let go of Joshua's hand only to bring his hands upwards, cupping the older's blushing face. He could literally saw the hearts forming in Joshua's beautiful eyes. 

"Joshua hyung. I love you." 

And that's when Joshua thought that his soul would leave his body. Seokmin had lean down and smash their lips together. Joshua's eyes went wide but close it slowly and sling his arms around Seokmin's neck, unconsciously pulling the younger closer and deepening the kiss in the process. He felt so happy that he really hoped that time would stop in that very moment.
