Luke is in a scarily good mood today. He hired a new kid to help out, and he's... something. I don't know what he is, but I know for damn sure it ain't nimble-witted.

The diner is busy and I see the Gilmores come in. They manage to scare away some customers to get themselves a table.

I was too busy tending to all the other full tables to get to them. Just as I got the chance Luke gets to the.

I see Lorelai trying to bug him, but it completely goes over his joyous little head.

"Are you in the mood for pancakes?" he asks them excitedly.

"Pancakes, sure. Yeah, guess we have enough space for pancakes," she says referring to the two tables they have pushed together.

He still catches nothing.

"'Cause I'm making pumpkin pancakes, and it comes with homemade cinnamon butter."

"You made cinnamon butter?" Rory asks.

"This morning."

"Wow. I bet the people who would love a table love a table right now, but can't because they're all taken would love pumpkin pancakes with homemade cinnamon butter."

"I'll get your coffee," he says walking off with grin on his face.

"Hey, hold on," Lorelai says, stopping him.

"What?"

"We're sitting at two tables."

"Yeah?"

"You hate that. That makes you mad."

"Only the one time."

"Why are you so sunny this morning?"

I spill something on me, so I run up to change my shirt as Luke tells them about his new help. I return just in time to see him give the Gilmores their food.

"Hi, Brennan," Rory says as I walk up behind him.

"Hey."

"Rory Gilmore. We went to school together."

"Yeah?"

"You don't remember? Biology -- the frog?"

"There've been a lot of frogs, man."

Lorelai laughs, and I'm having trouble keeping it together myself.

"Okay. thanks for the food."

"Yep," and with that he's gone.

"Your kids will be gorgeous," Lorelai jokes.

"And dumb as rocks," I add before getting back to work.

Saturday morning and I'm off today. It's early, just means more time to hang out. I walk down to the diner and see the Gilmore girls, so I walk over to them.

"Did I put on underwear?" Lorelai questions.

"What?" Rory replies.

"I think I forget to put on underwear. Can you check?" she asks Rory.

There is a moment of silence I spend trying not to laugh.

"Did I just ask you to check if I put on underwear?" Lorelai asks laughing.

"Yes," Rory replies.

"I hate football. Hello, Willow," she says lifting her head from the table.

"Hello."

"You just need coffee," Rory says.

"Oh, no!" Lorelai says.

"What?" Rory and I ask at the same time.

"Froggy."

"Brennon?"

"I hate that kid."

"I thought we were gonna give him a chance?" Rory asks.

"Yeah, chance ended when he dumped a chili-bean omelet on me the other day."

"He spilt half a pot of coffee on me," I add.

"What do we do, oh, he's coming over here," Rory says.

"What can I do for you chicas?" Brennon asks.

"Aw, we'd just like to order please," Rory tells him.

"Go ahead."

He 'takes' their order, not writing anything down. Then Lane comes in

"Bennon!" she calls.

"Oh, nice volume," he says.

"This is a box of doughnuts."

"Yeah?"

"It's supposed to be a box of bagels."

"They both have holes in them, right?"

"We've already had this conversation. Get me the bagels. Get me the bagels! Go. Now. Bye."

Lane talks about how she wishes she had gotten the job here. Lorelai walked up to Luke trying to commence him to fire Brennon. Rory tells me about the Harvard Yale game that her and Lorelai are going to.

I don't know how Lorelai is going to survive a day with her parents, especially one that includes football.

My morning was spent watching movies with Scarlett. At around noon I went to the bookstore and then headed back to Luke's to get lunch.

As I walk up to the diner I see Brennon through the window, standing on a table, and I can hear him singing.

Luke goes in and says something, not very happily, to Brennon and then the kid leaves. I walk in.

"Hey, Luke."

"Hey."

"What just happened there?"

"You're no longer off," he states

"Did you fire the kid?" I ask.

About five minutes later what seems like half the town floods into the dinner. Apparently Luke found everyone outside of Westen's.

They complained and Luke saw the same Brennon on a table scene that I did and told them he was being fired.
