We are currently heading to the town meeting and then Lorelai and Luke are going on their second date.

"How did I get rooked into this?" Luke asks.

"Uh, I'm irresistible? Lorelai replies.

"Yeah. Well, have I mentioned I hate town meetings?"

"No. I thought you said you hate clown bleeding, which I totally agree with."

"Agreed. Awful scene," I add.

"How was the date? I never got to ask."

"It was great," Lorelai replies.

"Where'd you go?"

"He took me to a whore house!"

"Oh, you took her to Sniffy's," I say.

"Oh, no. Is tonight raffle night? I can't deal with raffle night," Luke complains.

"No, it's not raffle night. Look, I promise we won't stay for the whole thing. It'll be like a stop by. We'll just run in and get the headlines, so I have something to tell Rory, and then we're off to the movie."

"Do not get used to me going to these town things. Just because you like them does not mean that I will ever like them or tolerate them or go to them."

"Mmm. Other than tonight?" I reply.

"Yes, other than tonight."

"And next Thursday," Lorelai adds as her phone starts ringing.

"I did not say I would go next thursday. What the hell is next Thursday?" he asks.

She answers the phone and it's her mother. I go into the studio and find us seats while she's on the phone.

They come in and we sit and listen to Andrew and Gypsy argue about who's fault their accident was.

"We have got to get a courthouse in this town," Gypsy complains.

"Alright, let's move on to the next order of business. A very serious matter has been brought to our attention, and I would like to bring to the floor for discussion the possible negative ramifications or the inn owner and diner owner dating," Taylor says.

Catching all three of our attention. Lorelai gasps.

"That's us!"

"They're talking about us," Luke says.

"This is going to be so much fun," I say as I take one of Lorelai's marshmallows and lean back in my seat.

"Now as you all know, the relationship we have feared for some time has emerged, and we need to carefully consider whether or not we can support this," Taylor says.

"Oh, my god," Lorelai says.

"We're sitting right here," Luke adds.

"Yes, we see you, Luke, and, as a member of the town, you are welcome to voice your opinion."

"Voice my-"

"I open the floor up for discussion," Taylor states.

Several people raise their hands, so Taylor goes first.

"-the co-mingling of the owners of these two establishments can only set the stage for disaster."

"What the hell is he talking about?" Luke asks.

"Well, he's not happy with our co-mingling," Lorelai replies.

"Think of the consequences. What will happen when the relationship goes sour, as, let's face it, most of Lorelai's relationships do?"

"Hey!" "Wow!" She and I reply.

They all talk about how if Luke and Lorelai break up it will be awful for the town and everyone will have to pick sides.

"I think I'll be on your team," I joke to Lorelai.

"Don't add to the crazy," Luke says.

"That's bad for the economy, bad for the town. I vote against this," Taylor says.

"Are they going to make us break up?" Lorelai asks.

"I think you're overreacting, Taylor," Babette says.

"People, do I have to remind you about Fay Wellington and Art Bruch, huh? Do I?" Taylor asks.

"Uh, yeah," Lorelai replies.

Then Taylor brings up some flower shop owner and candy store owner and how their relationship ended badly, and caused trouble for the whole town.

"God, this sounds terrible. Maybe they have a point," Lorelai says.

"No they don't have a point," Luke argues.

"Well, what if something happens?"

"This is crazy. I don't believe for one minute that the breakup of Fay Wellington and Art Bruch affected the economy of this town one bit."

"Well, lucky for you, I brought charts," Taylor replies.

"You have charts concerning the romance of two people who used to live here 10 years ago?" Luke asks.

"We think Fay still lives in the caves above Clancy's mill. We can't prove it, but every so often, we hear Delta Dawn playing over and over," Kirk says.

Lorelai answers her phone again. It's her mother again, so she takes the call outside. Taylor brings out a map of how they are going to split up the town.

Luke ended the discussion by saying he'd move if they broke up. They left for their date and I went back to the apartment.

Luke stayed with Lorelai, so the next morning there was no one to wake me up after I forgot my alarm, and I almost missed my bus.

In my rush out the door I completely missed the bizz that filled the diner.

The buzz that was about me.
