Night above the City Lights

I only have 4 hours of sleep. After my mom called ay hindi pa din ako nakatulog agad. I was just staring from no where. I was overthinking things hanggang sa hindi ko na namalayan na nakatulog na pala ako. Around 6:00 o'clock in the morning ng magising ako. As usual, magpeprepare lang ako for school. I went to the bathroom to do my morning rituals. After fixing myself, I only eat some cereals and drink milk. I don't like heavy meals kapag morning kasi nasusuka ako, I don't know why pero it feels so heavy kasi.

It's already 7:00 am when I decided to go at school. Malapit lang naman yung condo ko kaya hindi na ako nahihirapan magbyahe. You can walk from it if you want but I bring my car usually with me kase nilalagay ko din don yung ibang mga stuff ko in case na kailanganin. Ngayon lang ako hindi nagdala ng kotse dahil sa sinet up na date ni mom.

This is probably our last class because next week na ang H. Week. Usually our professors give us time for the preparation of booths kaya mas napapaaga ang cut ng class.

"Grabe sir, hindi ka naman nag announce ng quiz eh." I heard Sarah complaining to our professor. Umiinom pa sya ng chocolate shake na binili sa cafeteria dahil kakatapos lang ng lunch namin.

"Duh, of course he will not going to announce it because it's surprise quiz." Sarah looked on our way and rolled her eyes to Fiona. Well, ganyan naman sila palagi. Parang aso't pusa, laging nag aaway.

"It's 40 item quiz. If you can't have atleast 25, say goodbye to H. Week and say hi to me." Sir Pantalion said while looking at his laptop.

"Hala! Si sir naman." Dana pouted.

"'Wag naman sir!" Gino said. "Player ako sa basketball eh!"

"Get one and pass." Hindi na sya sumagot at inabot na ang test papers.

Like what our professor told earlier, it's a 40-item question. Well, it's not hard naman lalo sa mga nakinig sa discussion nya. Nakapagbasa naman din ako sa pinasa nyang power point presentation and believe me, nandon lahat. As in every single question ay mababasa mo don. May mga terms nga lang sya na nireverse at iniba but ganon pa din naman.

After an hour of answering ay nagcheck din agad kami. Narinig ko ang hiyawan ng mga kaklase ko when they saw their score. Well, I guess lahat kami ay nakakaattend ng Harris Week. I'm so excited na dahil may bagong pakulo daw ang student council, no one knows kung ano 'yon pero I'm sure it will going to be lit.

It's already 3:40 and we are still waiting for our next prof. Almost forty minutes na kaming naghihintay dito sa room and I'm sure na hindi na yon dadating. Nagsialisan na din ang mga kaklase ko kaya ako lang ang naiwan. Nandito lang ako sa labas ng room namin. Nakasandal ang dalawa kong kamay sa may railings habang tinatanaw ang buong school namin. I'm waiting for the guy my mom wants me to date. I can't help but to think about him. Does he know my schedule? Well, knowing my mom, alam kong sinabi nya sakin ang buong schedule ko. I'm still wondering about who he is. My mom didn't told me anything about the guy aside from he is her friend's son. I don't even know about his name or even his face.

Pumikit ako habang dinadama ang sariwang hangin. It feels so good. This is one of the reasons why I chose to study here. This is the only school na hindi mo mararamdaman na nasa siyudad ka. Napakatahimik at napakapayapa. This is also the reason why ate Alessandra really wants to study here back then. This is her dream school. Naalala ko dati nung grade 10 pa lamang ako sa Bernard University habang grade 12 naman sya dito sa Harris, lagi nyang kinukwento sakin dati kung gano kaganda ang school na 'to. The field, the trees, the buildings, the gym, the food... everything.
