"Ivy! Are you done packing?"

"Yes mommy just a minute"

Summer ng hapon, my Mom decided to leave me with my Lolo at the province since they're flying to Hongkong next week for Business issues. This is my first time visiting the province so i made sure to pack everything that I'll be needing for my stay there.

"Honey, what's taking you so long? Dalhin mo lang ang mga kakailanganin mo ah?"

"Yes mom, I'm almost done"
I shouted back while closing the zipper of my luggage. So bali, dalawang travel back pack at isang maleta ang dala ko for the whole summer. Not enough, marami pa akong naiwang gamit.

"Ivy Honey, is this really for summer only?"
Tanong saakin ni mommy pagkasakay ko sa kotse. Why is she asking me? Kulang pa yan kung tutuusin.

"Ah yes mom. Why?"

"Nothing, just make sure that you packed some dress for church day okay? Your lolo will freak out if he sees you in jeans attending mass"

"I actually packed 10 dresses mom"

"Th-thats too much but fine"

Too much? Marami pa ngang natirang dresses na gusto kong dalhin. Pero since hindi na kasya sa maleta, i decided to picked the ones I haven't used yet. Sayang naman kung hindi ko rin magagalaw.

Mommy told me that we will be taking half a day before arriving to Ilocos, its actually really far. Mom said Road trips are way more fun than taking a plane. Well, she's right, dahil sa mahabang oras na nakaupo ako sa back sit i never got bored or anything.

"If you are sleepy then sleep. There's a throw pillow back there" sabi saakin ni daddy while driving and focusing at the road in front of him, mom is busy typing something on her laptop. Maybe business again.

After looking outside the window, i decided to take a nap since malayo layo pa kami sa ilocos. I dreamed of a unicorn being chased by a goblin holding a knife. It is horrible and amusing at the same time. Why did i dreamed of some nonsense things?.

When i woke up the next day eksaktong pagising palang din ang haring araw, kaya isinandal ko ang pisngi ko sa salamin habang nakatingin sa kalangitan na unti unting kinakain ng liwanag ng araw. It looks really amazing, isama mo pa ang patag na lupang puno ng damo at mga punong matatayog sa magkabilang gilid ng kalsadang tinatahak namin.

Mom is still asleep, she stayed up last night because of work at para narin mabantayan si Daddy. To keep him busy and entertain dahil mahirap na baka makatulog siya habang nasa byahe.

"2hours to go and we are finally at Grandpa's house"

I am now looking at a huge old house. It has concrete walls pero meron ring parte ng bahay na gawa lang sa kahoy. It looks old but still looks nice and decent. Mukha parin namang bahay.

"Welcome!" Napatalon ako nang may biglang sumigaw na matandang lalaki na nakatayo sa may pinto. Sa magkabilang gilid niya ay dalawang babaeng nakasuot ng magkaparehas na uniporme.

"Papa!" Sigaw ni Daddy at Mommy sa matanda. So he is my Lolo Leandro.

"Welcome back sainyong dalawa! Im so glad you made it here safely" ngiti ni lolo after magbless nila mommy at daddy sakanya. Napatingin naman sakin si lolo kaya mas lalong lumaki ang ngiti niya.
