"When holding a gun make sure your dominant hand grips the gun high in the back strap like this." Adam tells us giving us a demonstration on how to do it.Now place your non–dominant hand, so that it's pressed firmly against the exposed portion of the grip not covered by the gun hand." He says.
"Make sure all four fingers of you support hand should be under the trigger guard with the index finger pressed hard underneath it." He removes his eyes from the gun and looks at all of our hands and after pointing out some of our mistakes and correcting them he continues.
"Now assume your extended shooting position." He tells us, i proceed to stand with my feet and hip shoulder width apart, I bend my knee slightly.
The instructor Adam stops by me, "adequate." he tells me before moving along. I scoff, it was more than adequate since I had been praticing since I turned 13.
"Now use your dominant eye, if you wish to figure out which of your eye is the dominant one, you can perform a quick eye test by forming a one inch circle with your thumb and index finger." He tells us.
"Hold the circle at arm's length, look at a distant object and look through the circle so that the object appears in one eye. That's your dominant eye.
Now the next...." He was cut off by the sound of the bell.
I immediately head to my next class, Archery, after several turns I reach the class.
"We are going to continue from where we stopped last week." Our instructor Mike says before diving straight to the topic."One of the most important step that should be taken into consideration when performing archery is your stance, if you have a good stance, it will be much easier to hit your target than with a bad stance. Now your stance prior to shooting the bow, you'll have to stand upright with feet shoulder width apart, and feet at 90 degrees to the target." Mike said before demonstrating it to us.
"Now keep a relaxed grip on the bow, don't hold it too tight or too loose." He briefly looks around the class, what he sees must have satisfied him because he nods and continue speaking.
"Grab the arrow right next to you, you can spread apart now and stand in front of your target. Turn the bow so that it is horizontal and the arrow rest is facing upwards, Place the arrow on the shelf of the arrow rest. Push the nock of the arrow onto the string between the two brass nocking points, ensuring that the clock fletch is pointing upward."
"Bring the bow back to vertical."
"Position your finger on the string with the index finger above the arrow and two fingers.
The string should sit in the last crease of your fingers.(nearest to your fingertips)"
"We will continue in our next class, you can use the remaining time to practice and go through what we just did, if you are facing any difficulties or have any difficulties with anything, you can always draw my attention to it." He tells us before heading over to the adjourning room.
I sit down quietly and watched the other Alpha's. I search for Alexia and see her holding an arrow and bow practicing what we were just taught, she was doing horribly, but she seemed that with practice she'll probably get better.
