Meanwhile, at the penthouse, Arnold was in his lab, pacing back and forth. Matthew was still in the cage and was still unintelligent.
"Where are they?" Arnold groaned. "They should be back by now." He leans against a test table, facing Matthew. "It's getting hard finding good help these days. You know what I mean? You work your way to the top only to have people who rely on you to pay them bring you down." He pauses for a moment. Matthew just stared at him with a blank expression. "Oh, who am I kidding? You're dumb. You don't understand what I'm saying."
"Hey, boss. We're back."
Arnold looks up to see Arthur and the two guards walking into the lab with Xenna in their clutches.
"Let go of me, you creep!" Xenna attempts to kick the guard on her right side but misses.
"You missed." Xenna kicks him in the groin, making him wince and fall to the ground.
"Ah, Ms. Woods. So nice of you to join us. I hope Arthur treated you well."
"What do you want with me?"
"You're bait for Dylan and his new friends. Once he learns that you've been kidnapped, he's gonna want to come here. Therefore, I'll be able to capture both him and his partners. Including your little boyfriend."
"This is ridiculous. Even for you. Why do you hate teens so much?"
"Why?" Arnold stands up and walks away from the table. "Riddle me this. Why is it that I, a successful entrepreneur and owner of a sleek five-star restaurant in the Big Apple, is always found second-best to kids under the age of 18?" He circles around Xenna like a hungry wolf. "While I was rising up in the world, your pathetic Chief Walter decided to open an academy for teenage secret agents. When his agents started doing good across the globe, it caught the attention of the press, and soon, the spotlight was not on me anymore." Arnold then stops in front of Xenna. "I figure destroying his notoriety like he destroyed mine would be the sweetest revenge I could possibly think of."
"So, that's it? You're making teens dumb just because another adult is more successful? Finn's right. That is kinda stupid."
"As opposed to what?"
Arnold, Xenna, Arthur, and the guards turn to see Olivia walking into the lab with the energy orb.
"As opposed to leaving the orb at the hotel instead of taking it with you? Yeah, that's really stupid."
"Finally," Arnold chuckled as Olivia handed him the orb. Xenna, distraught, watched Arnold carry it to the Igno-Matic.
"Oh, honey. Don't feel bad," Olivia mocked. "Let me give you a little dating advice: don't go out with someone if they're not gonna protect themselves...let alone you." Xenna just looked away in despair.
Arnold was busy installing the orb back into the power core in the laser. After he finished, he scurried over to the switch.
"Let there be light!"
Suddenly, the Igno-Matic lit up and began to operate in full glory. Xenna stood there in shock while Arnold laughed maniacally at his creation. He laughed and laughed until it was just too much, even for him. Arthur and his guards stood there confused while Olivia rolled her eyes.
"It's...it's not working?" Arthur shakes his head. "Alright. I want evil laugh suggestions from everyone by tomorrow. Now, let's get to work."
