THIRD P.O.V
After they settled in the bunker, Brie and Elsa went to prepare food in the kitchen. Mia stayed behind to inspect the last gift from David. It was ruined. The back was wrecked, the rear glass was gone, the sides had bullet holes, the windscreen was cracked, the headlights were gone and the colour was scretched off in many areas. She opened the door and tried to start it but it was pointless. She cried begging it to work but it didn't. She hit the steering wheel frustrated until the airbags pooped out adding insult to injury. It was when the pain kicked in. She found out Her parents were kidnapped and being tortured somewhere and she lost the love of her life all in less than an hour. She let it out. All her pain. The memories of David flashed before her eyes. She cried from the driver's sit where she was. Then she remembered one time a few months ago when she went on a Date with David.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Flashback~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They were in disguise to avoid attracting attention and went to an amusement park. They rode all the rides like little kids. Played the games, went to photobooths. When the sun finally set, they bought icecream and went to watch it. She placed her head on his shoulder and he smiled, still looking straight ahead."You know, when I lost my parents, I thought I would never be happy again. I thought I deserved the pain because of all the things I had done and all I have said. I hated myself but then I bumped into the school's bad girl and next thing I know, I am the happiest human being on the planet." He laughed a bit, looking at Mia lovingly.
"You know, Growing up, I never knew what a parent's love felt like. I never knew what having your parents' undivided attention is like. I seeked for attention everywhere else. I made everyone else feel small so that all their attention can be on me. Then the school's nerd bumped into me and gave me all the love and attention in the world next thing I know, I am the luckiest human being on the planet." Mia replied, stealing his sentence structure and they both giggled a bit.
"It is literally impossible not to notice you. You are stunning Mia, you don't need anyone's confirmation because it is an undisputable fact." David said softly.
"But why did my parents abondon me? Was I not good enough? Did they want a prettier more intelligent child? Did..." Mia was cut off by David kissing her.
"My Mia, people are strange. I cannot tell you why your parents are the way they are but I can tell you it is not because you are flawed. Maybe it is because people often fail to realise what they have until it is gone." David said. Mia smiled. He always knew what to say. For the first time Mia actually felt valuable
"I know. I never want to lose you. You make me feel valuable, you are what makes me precious." Mia replied but David shook his head in disagreement. "What?" Mia asked confused
"I don't make you precious, you make you precious. Mia, never measure your value using other people's standard because then you will never be good enough." David advised firmly."You so irresistable when you become all mature and wise." Mia said teasingly which caused David to blush. "I love making you blush. I can't wait for us to be married. Have kids and love them the way my parents never could for me." Mia said smiling at the thought and David smiled as well
"That would be fantastic. I would name her or him Chance, Chance Peterson." David said and Mia raised an eyebrow at him and laughed. "What?" David asked
"Chance? Really David, what happened to proper everyday English or atleast Family names?" Mia laughed harder causing David to blush with a bit of embarassment
"I think it is a beautiful name Mia that has a reach and variable meaning." David protested while smiling at Mia but Mia was still laughing.
