ETTA

No concerts, no watching or performing shows, no being in the same building during a show, and certainly no celebrating after a show, for a week. At least. That's what they had told her. Along with a very long and detailed list of dos and don'ts on how she should go about recovering as quickly as possible.

As the nurse had explained everything to her, she'd felt a different kind of headache forming, and could do nothing but lie there as Kamya had gone on, and on, and on. Etta, of course, was incredibly grateful, but all she'd wanted to do then was get back into her bed, and sleep for a week.

Instead, she was told that she had to reduce her screen time, as it would make her vulnerable to headaches and exposure to the light would only slow her recovery down. Then there was the fact that she couldn't really do any activities that used excessive movements of her head and neck, and she'd have to be sure to stay hydrated and drink lots of water, even if she'd just gone for a short, five minute walk.

The only thing that didn't seem like a chore, was the nurse's order for plenty of rest. That, Etta thought, she could deal with.

Only three days later, she'd proven herself wrong.

Everyone was acting like crazed mother hens. The slightest movement, or protest, from Etta would have them all practically pinning her back down to her bed. It had been an effort to convince them that she could walk long enough to go to the toilet, the first day back from the hospital.
