ETTA ♛A week later, Etta found herself standing in front of a crowd for the first time in what felt like forever. She'd missed the exhilaration, the adrenaline that coursed through her underneath the spotlights, and before a thousand bright flashes going off like fireworks throughout the arena.
She'd missed the complete rush she felt when everybody roared and screamed and sang along to her own music. She'd missed feeling alive on a stage doing what she'd been born to do. Which was why Etta seemed to be a natural at performing, although she'd never admit it.
However, right then, with thousands of people staring right back at her waiting for Etta to perform her last song of the set, she felt like she was going to freeze. Not because of the eyes on her, nor the sole spotlight, and it wasn't because the arena had gone as close to silent as it could get...no. It was because of the man standing just to the right of the stage, watching her without knowing that the song she was about to perform, was new. And about him.
It was an effort to not look at him throughout her set, but the pull was almost impossible to ignore, at that moment, she was worried that she was scaring the fans standing at the front of the stage from how intensely she'd been staring at them, in a massive effort to ignore the urge to look at Luke.
Somehow, Etta managed, and composed enough to speak into the mic, the sound of her voice after those moments of silence nearly made her jump out of her skin as it rang through the venue. "This is a new song that I literally wrote about a week ago, so bare with me." She chuckled lightly, and heard a couple, distant cheers from the crowd, "and if I mess up just close your eyes. You saw nothing."
