Chapter 1: The Other Side...Effects

I walk where my pack is at. My house. Well...the leaders house. There's many of us. We don't leave out area. I did. I basically broke a rule. Yeah we have rules. Stupid rules that I sometimes don't follow.

The front door is always unlock. It's always unlock for some reason. I think it's becouse we have a big huge gate that is in our front yard. I climb over the wall and Make my way inside. Pain hits my side. I bite my lip to not to scream.

No noise. That's odd. It's usually loud and people are just having fun.

"Hello? Anyone here?" I yell throughout the house.

There's no awnser. They must've went upstairs. I make my way upstairs

Nothing. Where is everyone? Maybe the basement?

I walk down to the basement. There's a basement. The leader and some of the strongest men in our pack made it.

I hear whispers.

"Hello?"

"Amanda?" I hear.

"Jordan?" I say. He walks over to me.

"Amanda where were you. Everyone has been worried." He says hugging me.

"Oh. I'm sorry. I just-. Ow." I say putting my hand on my side.

"Oh my... Amanda what did you do?" Jordan says. His voice sounds worrisome.

"I just got into a fight with another wolf. No big deal. And did I mention ten or eleven men chasing me." I say.

"You went to the other side! You know we're not allowed to do that!" He says raising his voice.

"I know." I say. I look at him.

He moves my hand from my side. "What did you do?" He asks me

"I got into a fight with another wolf. It wasn't from here. It hurt me. Scratched my side actually." I say.

"You and breaking the rules. If Max figures out that you did this then you will have to be locked up in the basement and I don't want that for you." He says, "Let me go get Alexis."

"No. Don't get her yet. What's going on?" I ask.

"They knew you were missing. Some though you were dead. I didn't. I knew you were alive. Just don't ever do that again." Jordan says. "Everyone here knows everyone. We're a small pack."

"Ok. I won't. It wasn't that fun." I say.

He goes to get Alexis. Alexis is our nurse. She's around her mid-twenties. She helps if we get hurt while doing something. For instance; training. I've trained for two years. It's fun trying the knock out you opponent. And then the victory is the best.

My family is my pack. My parents died seventeen years ago. I don't know how. Our leader Max he doesn't know how they died. I don't have any brothers or sisters. I'm the last of my family line. The closes of family that I have is Jordan and his sister Miranda. There a year apart. But we act like family. I'm usually quiet but I'm almost deadly for my group of range in training. Well...Jordan is but I like calling myself silent but deadly.

Jordan and Alexis come over to me."Thank you Jordan. I have it."

"Be careful." Jordan says.

"I will." She says. Jordan walks away into the crowd.

"Follow me." She says.

I follow her. She guides me into her office. Alexis grabs some glass brown stained bottles. I don't know what are in them."This will sting a bit." She says taking the bottle and a towel.
She put it on my elbows and my knuckles. It does sting. I thank her. "Oh. your side." She says.

"That's nothing." I say. It hurts. Painfully.

"Could you take off your hood?" She says.

"I'd rather not." I move it out of the way.

My hood was from my parents I got it two years ago for becoming my wolf self. I was raised by the leaders wife; Georgia. But the leader didn't like me. He never did. I don't to think he ever will.

She looks at my ripped white shirt. It's now tinted a lightish pink from my blood.

"It's not major." She says.

"It's from a wolf." I say.

"We don't do that here." She says.

"I know I kinda broke a rule." I whisper.

"You didn't..." she says softly.

"I did. I was bored and I wanted to explore beyond the gates. It was beautiful. Well the town in daylight and then when it came to the nighttime it was brutal." I whisper.

"I know." She says.

"Wait you've been there?" I say.

"Yes." She says grabbing a bandage and raps my elbows and my knuckles.

"Your side I can't bandage it. It's too big. The claw marks I don't think that they would be live threating. Just come back in a few days if it gets worse." She says.

"What should I do? Some think that I'm dead and others don't." I say.

"Just stand up proud and be strong. I know you are a special person Amanda." She says.

"Silent but deadly."

"I guess you could call yourself that."

"Thanks for the help."

"I have a question for you."

"Mmmhhh."

"Your hood...why are you so protective of it?" She says.

"Max gave me it he told that it was from my parents."

"Yeah...see you later?" I say.

"See you later" and with that I exit Alexis' office and I make my way to Max's office.
