He was a bookseller, as I knew him
Selling books , magazines, newspapers
In his little book shop
In the far corner of the street
"Books give us knowledge
thoughts and ideas
They are my life
They are my livelihood"
he would say.

Down came the disaster ....
Four months passed ....
Everything changed
We changed
Shops closed
And books?
It seems we don't miss them
Indoor technology took its place
We've started reading e-books
using social media
doing online classes ....

To sustain his life and family
The bookseller now sells vegetables
Sitting before his bookstall
"I started dealing with
An Essential Commodity"
he says.

May the Lord save our books
and the booksellers.
