Leaving the Island

As I look at this guy who randomly sat next to me, I couldn't help check him out.

He had brown hair and brown eyes. He wasn't to tan but he had some color. He was actually really attractive.

I can't say that I've met any attractive guys like him. Because I haven't actually met any teenage or attractive guys ever.

I wasn't nervous about him either. I'm strong and I'm courageous. I can have a conversation with anyone I want without being nervous.

"Hello, my names Alena Kappis," I replied with a small smile.

"I'm sorry to just randomly sit here but there was no one sitting here and I was pretty lonely by myself as well.

"It's okay. I guess it is pretty lonely here as well." I laughed.

He laughed too and I couldn't help but notice his cute little laugh warmed me up a little.

Maybe I should let him sit here for the rest of the trip since it's so long and it could get boring having nothing to do for 22 hours.

Me and Dave talked for hours about random things. I appreciated it because it toke my mind off my parents.

"So, are you staying in Charleston?" He asked me after talking about our favorite animals.

We actually had a lot in common. Both of our favorite colors were red, our favorite animals were elephants, and a whole lot more.

Dave was really interesting to say the least. His smile was nice and warm and made you feel seen. And when he laughed it didn't sound fake, it seemed like he enjoyed what you said.

Dave was a really nice person and i think maybe we can be friends.

"Yes. I'm moving there from Greece," I replied. I put a fake smile on so he wouldn't seen how broken I feel when thinking about my parents.

"So am I, well sorta. I just came here to visit some old friends. I'm going back home to Charleston, SC," So he's lives in the same town as me. That's good. At least I'll have a friend.

I smiled at and we had another random conversation about Greece.

I'm overall glad that he still hasn't asked about my family because it's so recent and it hurts so much.

We talked for another hour and then we decided to watch a movie.

Dave put his arm around me and I snuggled closer feeling his warmth radiate on to me. I breathed in his scent. It smelled like Axe cologne. It was amazing.

We ended up watching more than one movie and I ended up falling asleep with his arm rapped around me and both of us snuggling together. I felt really comfortable. I thought it would be good to not let people in or trust them, but I trust Dave. He'll be the only one I'll let in.
